The Bay Ridge Cabal: Pre-Election Events Confirm Brooklyn GOP is “Bay Ridge GOP”

The Brooklyn GOP’s upcoming pre-election events demonstrate the party leadership is not interested in holding events in any place BUT Bay Ridge. Chairman Craig “The Duke of Bay Ridge” Eaton, Primate of the Church of Political Failure, has clearly decided in the wake of his controversial reelection that he is unwilling to hold Brooklyn GOP events anywhere further than two miles from his holy see.

A friendly reader has submitted a copy of a recent email from The Duke with a schedule of upcoming events. Reading the email, one would think our borough party is in fact a third party organization with a serious Shore Road syndrome.

The fact is Chairman Eaton is living up to his nickname and all of the pathetic and embarrassing jokes that are made about the party by proving in recent days that the Brooklyn GOP is a crumbling Bay Ridge cabal.

On the positive side, how easy it would be to MapQuest these events! If you live near Craig Eaton, you won’t be complaining! As for the rest of you Brooklyn Republicans, shame on you for not living in Bay Ridge!

Pathetic.

The fact is the party is suffering huge losses and is wasting valuable resources in areas where the Brooklyn GOP need not perform as much outreach. In fact, as we will soon be reporting to you, the Brooklyn GOP has benefited almost no out-of-Bay Ridge venue or group unless it has an Eaton or Golden connection.

For those of our fellow Republicans who would have liked to have had the party hold their election night event at a place other than a Marty Golden stronghold, keep dreaming!

The reality is this party is missing the forest for the trees–the trees being those you find along Shore Road. The reelection of Chairman Eaton was bad enough, but deep down inside, I’m sure many were hoping he might have learned from the criticism he received in the run-up to the county committee convention. Based on his recent actions and his scheduled events, it seems Eaton is recoiling into his Dukedom and banishing the rest of the borough.

This strategy will fail. It has failed in the past and will continue to fail in the future.

Chairman Eaton: wake up!

You cannot be the head of the Brooklyn GOP and treat the party like a neighborhood club. It’s frankly insulting and demonstrates utter laziness.

We all realize that. Do you?
