Golden Comrade Bertha Lewis Decries Tea Party Movement, Promotes Socialism

April 24, 2010

Marty, you sure know how to pick em.

In a recent online video posted to YouTube, ACORN Amazon Bertha Lewis was filmed going on a rant promoting socialism and bashing what she calls the Tea Party “bowel movement” (I must say, that actually is clever). That video was forwarded to us by a kind reader of our blog.

Why do any of us care what Bertha Lewis has to say, besides the fact that ACORN has been and remains a very controversial group in national politics? Because, as you recall, Marty Golden worked closely with Ms. Lewis and her community organizers promoting the Atlantic Yards project.

Here’s the video:

Now, many of us here in Brooklyn have friends relatives or ourselves in unions, or are Democrats, or are left of center. There are what I would call “reasonable” Democrats and independent-minded Democrats who call out corruption and dislike the political disfunction in this state regardless of party (I would count Bay Ridge Interpol among that group).

Then, you have your Looney Toons, like Bertha Lewis.

Now, whether you agree with the Atlantic Yards project or not, who you choose to stand next to in a fight or when you’re taking a side on an issue in politics says a great deal about your character, in my opinion.

Which is why so many of our readers and we here at Atlas were extremely dismayed to see Bay Ridge’s “great” State Senator Marty Golden engaging in some kind of Bertha Lewis rally some time ago:

Given that and this new video, we have some questions for the Senator:

Do you regret the decision to stand with Bertha Lewis last year?

Do you agree with her positions? If not, why would you dare give credence to her message by standing with her?

Should we take your decision to stand with Ms. Lewis as a reflection of your personal politics or your self-interested machinations?

Can’t you understand why Republicans would be dismayed to see you working with her organizations given its national agenda and the fact that you have personally supported Democrats yourself?

Because every time a video like this comes out, it just reminds us all of how much we question your judgment, Mr. Senator.

And still, we have no answers.

After all, that’s what friends are for. $$$$

Ever notice how those boys at The Jig keep misspelling words? I mean, are we really afraid of these little punks (except the ones with guns and the ones that assault youngsters and steal)?

They go after Lucretia Regina-Potter and James McCall for no reason. Jonathan Judge every day. They go after people’s children. I mean, don’t they have lives?

    I guess not.

There’s nothing you boys can do. Marty Golden has been fatally wounded by his own stupidity. Gerry O’Brien is dead to anyone in politics after the stunts he’s pulled. You can’t even look for him on the internet without learning the truth about him–you know, theft, assault of a youngster. Jerry Kassar isn’t taken seriously by anyone. Russell Gallo is known only to his pet dog (or that other house pet he hasn’t married yet). He’s made the 47th AD a terror to be a Republican in, with failure left and right, and not just his own. And Marc D’Ottavio is now only known for one thing: THAT HE LOST BY 90% OF THE VOTE!

I hear people are talking about replacing Craig Eaton with Bob Howe–that’s how desperate things are getting in Brooklyn. No one can trust Craig to be sane anymore. He’s “crazed” over the blogs, but not as much as Gallo, I hear.

And LOTS of people upstate have heard about this whole debacle in Brooklyn. Craig Eaton is known to not have control over his county party, not that he was taken seriously to begin with.

All said, the old establishment of Golden/Eaton is on the outs. See you later, sweeties!

    Kiss kiss…

The Jig is Dead because no one cares what they have to say.

The Jig is Dead because they repeat themselves.

The Jig is Dead because they misspell words.

The Jig is Dead because Craig Eaton is finished, TRUTH SPOKEN.

The Jig is Dead because Marty Golden is finished, TRUTH SPOKEN.

The Jig is Dead because everyone knows they’re lying.

The Jig is Dead because they’re irrelevant, oh wait, I already said that!

The Jig is Dead because they make fun of people for smoking pot, which is tame compared to what the authors of that blog must be smoking.

The Jig is Dead because they are obsessed with Jonathan Judge.

The Jig is Dead because they are obsessed with Lucretia Regina-Potter.

The Jig is Dead because they are obsessed with Arnaldo Ferraro.

The Jig is Dead because they are obsessed with James McCall (wow, sounds like they have lots of enemies, wonder why??? LOL)

The Jig is Dead because the Brooklyn GOP Revolution has begun.

    The Jig is Dead. Yep.

Another Democrat pal of the Republican Senator Golden was recently called on a particularly egregious proposal favoring the interests of teachers unions at the expense of everybody else. Assemblyman Peter Abbate is notorious for doing sweetheart “contracts” for his friends in the UFT. This time he got caught in quite a roundabout way.

Bill Donahue of the Catholic League for Civil Rights bashed a double standard in the mainstream press recently—- which Donahue says readily attacks the Roman Catholic for its failures to address things like the clergy pedophile problem, while giving a pass to long term abusers in places like the public schools. His article specifically singled out a lack of coverage of a move by 49th AD Assemblyman Peter Abbate.

According to Donahue, “[The New York Times] doesn’t even like to report on efforts to insure greater rights for the molesters. For example, New York Assemblyman Peter Abbate, Jr. recently introduced a bill to terminate in-house disciplinary inquiries for all civil servants, thus making it easier for abusers to skate. But it never made the Times.”

Does Marty Golden’s deals with Abbate and the Stars and Stripes Club include having to stay mum on these kinds of bills? Assemblyman Abbate regularly spills them out, but Golden never criticizes them. What gives, Senator?

  7. From Bay Ridge Interpol permalink
    April 25, 2010 12:44 am

By now you’ve heard the story: Several members of State Senator Marty Golden’s extended family were involved in a bar fight during the wee hours of April 11th at a local watering hole.

The brawl-star was Marty’s nephew, 23-year-old Daniel Golden. Also involved in the mêlée were three other young men all related to dishonorable Marty Golden. Members of this Debate Club included John DeCarlo and The Brothers Crowley, Kevin and Michael – also in their early 20’s.

After the dust had settled, off-duty firefighter Rosario Cicero lay bleeding after being slashed with a switchblade while Golden’s nephew had managed to break the jaw of an off-duty Port Authority Police Officer named Ryan McCarthy. It was a night to remember!

Days later, The Times, The Post, The Daily News 1 & 2, NY1 and 1010 WINS had all run versions of the story multiple times. Yet, mysteriously absent from the reporting was our local paper, The Spectator. Further solidifying that the only place for The Spectator is on the bottom of my parakeets cage and not on any respectable newsstands. It ain’t worth your hard earned 50¢.

We here at the Bay Ridge Interpol had initially refrained from running this story because, frankly, it was too easy. We also didn’t feel the story had any relevance politically; for, with all due respect, Marty is not directly responsible for his nephew’s actions. Had it been Marty’s son, OK, but regardless Marty doesn’t need any help making a fool of himself. So we sat this one out… that is until we realized the depth of collusion, corruption and idolatry in this here little town. Bay Ridge has always been rife with fantasy; lots of delusional big fish in a very small pond and J. Frank Griffin has his nose so far up Marty Golden’s ass he has black pudding on his face.

The same way Marty Golden uses the Bay Ridge Manor as his little clubhouse where he can serve a few plates of rubber chicken in exchange for a few votes; The Spectator is Marty Golden’s public affairs newsletter. Not to mention, having Jerry Kassar’s weekly OpEd is a major conflict of interest. Jerry is Marty Golden’s Chief of Staff for God’s sake!

Cronkite and Murrow must be rolling in their graves right now just like soon enough Marty’s extended family will be rotting in their jail cells.

Call The Spectator and ask if anyone there can recall the ethics and standards of journalism.

Email J. Frank Griffin and see if he knows anything about truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity, impartiality, fairness and public accountability.

You say State Senator Golden is a socialist.

But Senator Marty say, “Jobs, jobs, jobs…!”

    I Couldn’t disagree more…..about the socialist part…. Golden’s a venture capitalist with the people’s money.

Still, Senator Marty say, “Jobs, jobs, jobs…!”

I think what this is all about is state subsidized capitalism— it may start out looking socialized, socialistic even, but then after all is said and done, the biggest piece of the pie ends up in somebody’s pocket (can you say Ratner? I know you can’t say “Katsimatidis”).

Again, Senator Marty say, “Jobs, jobs, jobs…!”

Follow the money tree of the Atlantic-Vanderbilt Yards project. It’s big enough for the left and the right, and the well connected on all sides, to dip their snouts into the trough and come away sated (Slurp-/@#?&- Burp).

Now Senator Marty sing, “Jobs, jobs, jobs…!”

Here’s where the big money is big time, enough for all around. It’s the Rosetta Stone for all the deals and corruption that are choking the system here in New York State, but especially here in Brooklyn.

Then Senator Marty shout loud, “Jobs, jobs, jobs…!”

It’s really no better or worse than the Aqueduct Racetrack Casino deal that has apparently blown up on the launchpad.

There a different State Senator say, “Jobs, jobs, jobs…!” (Btw, Malcolm Smith, didn’t he once run on the Conservative Party line, too? How did that go down?)

State Senator Malcolm Smith and State Senator Martin J. Golden are now on opposite sides //\\ of the same corruption coin.

Both Senators Marty and Malcolm chant, “Jobs, jobs, jobs…!”

Among all the shiny faces at Pratt, Marty was shiny bright.

Senator Marty, Bertha Lewis and the ACORNERS harmonize, “Jobs, jobs, jobs…!”

See Marty Golden play community organizer— the video was quite a sight.
See Senator Marty’s whiskey-tenor croon, “Jobs, jobs, jobs…!”— the video was quite a sight.

This article was written about the 13th Congressional district race in brooklyn last week it looks like- and not a word about craig eaton. Wasn’t it right before Eaton shot down his opponents at the gop convention last year that he said this was the “key race” and Allegretti was his guy but not a word since. We thought the Brooklyn GOP was going to play a key role and lead the way– what happened?? Allegretti can’t be happy with his chairman’s silence and irrelevance! We need a real chairman..

So much for “running our own horse in this race,” as the useless Chairman “The Duke of Bay Ridge” Eaton said at his much lambasted reinstatement as the Czar of GOP Failure. I hope you guys cover how the Brooklyn GOP has ignored Allegretti and looks poised to support Grimm much the way they supported Greenfield over Jonathan Judge by endorsing a no-name candidate.

Allegretti is being played. The only difference is Judge never played the futile game with the Brooklyn GOP and called them out for their corrupt dealings while Allegretti has been courting the Brooklyn GOP leadership and has nothing to show for it.

Hello! The Brooklyn GOP is useless. Heck, they didn’t even collect many more valid signatures than Judge’s Young Republicans did in the 44th, and that was with the “full resources” of the Brooklyn GOP behind this no-name Ken Rice.

Judge’s people raised almost $10,000. When was the last time the Brooklyn GOP raised that kind of cash for their candidates? Try NEVER.

So, when it’s all said and done, Michael Allegretti is going to find he’s being used for his money and is having no traction in Brooklyn because they are useless, do-nothing failures on the outs.

The writing is on the wall…
