Atlas Poll: Majority So Far Agree Golden Prince is Not Acting Like a Republican
(“It’s a new year,” as Golden shakes hands with Sen. Hiram Monserrate)
Our unscientific poll of our readers has thus far demonstrated that Sen. Marty Golden’s performance has not been very well perceived.
As you know, some of my colleagues have taken issue with Senator Marty Golden of Bay Ridge (aka The Golden Prince), who has, at the very least, engaged in some questionable non-Republican behavior as of late. He has appeared at an ACORN rally with controversial activist Bertha Lewis and has endorsed a liberal Democrat in the 44th City Council race over Young Republican leader Jonathan Judge.
I previously called the 44th City Council district race a “unique opportunity” for Sen. Golden “to send a signal of unity.”
Recognizing that the Senator is up for reelection this year, we asked you to gauge your opinion of him using the Atlas Poll.
So far over 150 votes have been tallied.
Here are the percentages:
1. He’s essentially a Democrat, supports Democrats like Espada, and is hurting the Brooklyn GOP (60%)
2. I liked him, but I don’t like his ACORN activism or support of Democrats (11%)
3. I agree with him part of the time and disagree with him part of the time (14%)
4. He’s the most important Republican in New York City (15%)
We invite you to keep voting to express your opinion of Senator Golden.
Hopefully, if the Senator is listening, he will work to remedy any concerns his fellow Republicans have. It has been said that Marty Golden is the “last word“ of the Republican Party organization in Brooklyn.
Despite our differences with the Senator, we of course invite any comment he has on the topics and issues that he has been party to here on Atlas Shrugs in Brooklyn.
Most importantly, we welcome your comments and constructive criticisms, because, at the end of the day, no one is more valuable or respected in our eyes than you, our devoted readers.
