“Bay Ridge” GOP Holds Holiday Fest: Room Full of Patronage Workers With Their Eyes All Aglow in Golden Prince’s Manor

December 14, 2009

350 people showed up at the bread line on a cold winter’s night in this recession.

Food was freely given. Drinks were poured. Hands were sweaty from having been shook ten shakes too many.

But this was not a soup kitchen or the Salvation Army.

This was the Brooklyn GOP’s holiday party, and if you weren’t there, allow me to paint a picture.

Firstly, you should know the Brooklyn GOP posted the information about their party very quickly after it took place (thanks for the photo guys! ;-)).

The room was warm and cozy and full of Board of Election workers, proving again, as around the time of the county committee convention, what patronage is really worth to this party: a hungry mob of folks devoted to jobs rather than values.

The picture shows all of the sweet old ladies who showed up to receive a kiss from Santa Marty (no, despite what the picture shows, they did not hold the party at a senior center).

As you surely guessed, Craig “The Duke” Eaton and his Prince, Sen. Martin Golden, were in attendance.

Naturally, the party was hosted at the Bay Ridge Manor. We all know what that means… (Mr. Chairman, if you want to give money to your overlord, why didn’t you just stuff the money in Marty’s pockets? I guess giving it to his family owned business is just as good? Just a thought.)

Now, every holiday party, someone “special” shows up. At a previous holiday party, it was The King of New York, Mike Bloomberg, who was hosted. This year, State GOP Chairman Ed Cox was in attendance. Likely he was invited by Golden to “prove” to him that the Brooklyn GOP has not devolved into the chaos that everyone in the surrounding boroughs and elsewhere has learned it truly is. A few of the candidates that lost this go round were in attendance, as well as some prospects looking to be political and playing nice.

Thank God free food still fills a room or two!

(Chairman Cox, please note: Bloomberg came to a recent Holiday Dinner before the Brooklyn GOP Civil War broke out this year—what did that get him in Brooklyn this past election? Nothing. My Atlas colleagues have asked me to warn you not be fooled by frivolity and antics that amount to meaninglessness.)

It must have seemed so great! All those people huddled around the tables spearing meat and swiping rolls. Such festive cheer!

Meanwhile, the price tag of the dinner is expected to be in the thousands (it costs a lot of money, what with all the fatted calves being slaughtered to feed the fatted pigs!).

My colleague Hank Rearden will be releasing a story soon detailing how the Brooklyn GOP has cleared out its bank account and, after this party, will be left with far less what Bloomberg paid to the county party to gift wrap a Wilson Pakula for him. This should come as no surprise to those who took note of Atlas’s earlier detail of the Brooklyn GOP’s stunning mismanagement of party funds.

***

Now, I’m no Grinch. I love a good party!

But, at a time when the economy has soured and so many have lost, the Bay Ridge Cabal is spending money like Michael Jackson on holiday.

They have no clear vision of what to do in the future, so they hope that by inviting a bunch of their subsidized hacks to a big dining hall they’ll create a smokescreen to distract from the ruins all around them—ruins that were the result of the very Shore Road Syndrome and dissention that they themselves have fostered.

In light of the true state of the party and with important events on the horizon, we are left to ask the question: where is the reconciliation promised by Marty Golden? We heard during the period around the convention from sources that The Golden Prince promised unity and togetherness after the convention regardless of the outcome.

Has he fallen asleep? It is Christmas time, after all–a time for healing and good will.

The Golden Prince has one of the most important election years in the Brooklyn GOP’s history coming up, and he’s content to let divisions rule the party?

Either he’s brain-dead or drank too much of the eggnog at the holiday party!

Wake up Senator! You currently lead what’s left of this party! You are responsible for what becomes of it just as much as Eaton is.

It should be clear by now that The Duke of Bay Ridge has no intention of pursuing any true reform. I mean, look at the Brooklyn GOP website if you don’t believe that. The site is speckled with misspellings and the same “talk down to you” tone that starting ruffling feathers when he first came on the scene. Frankly, the website is trash (I’m embarrassed that the party’s name is on it, as a Republican), and hundreds of people have expressed their resolute discontent over its poor design. It is just a symbol of the even greater problem with the Brooklyn GOP: it has no message and no vision for the future.

Look at the alienating tactics he took after he was reelected under a cloud of controversy.

Look at his inability to organize and lead any effective political event (that does not involve free food).

Eaton isn’t cutting it. So what do you do if you’re Marty Golden?

You do want to win, don’t you, Senator?

If not, your GOP constituents and friends expected better from you.

***

Irrespective of Golden’s designs (or lack thereof), I find it very telling that the Brooklyn GOP, in their desperation, is turning to parties as the source of their ability to impress what shriveled base they maintain in this borough.

But those devoted to true reform and progress are not distracted by such revelry. But while they cast the pieces for their Golden Calf, we know you are waiting on the mountain for the law to come down. We have long-term goals and higher aspirations. Petty trivialities don’t win elections—good platforms and donations do.

The Brooklyn GOP lacks both in the worst way.

And what good will this holiday party do for them next year when the same divisions that existed in September thaw out of the snow in spring?

We know that the barricades are still up. We know the wounds are still fresh. We know because we see the evidence of this everywhere.

***

And so, after a night of heavy drinking and stuffing faces full of figgy pudding, what is this holiday party worth?

What good will it do for our party when we desperately struggle to gain ground in areas of Brooklyn in which the leadership has made no attempt to gain a foothold in recent years?

What good will it do for our party in the 13th Congressional District, which is a must-win this year?

What good will it do for our party when it has no message to offer the voters and an empty bank account?

Nothing.

Lesson to Bay Ridge Cabal: superficiality pays no dividends in the future.

***

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all.

But look at all those people they had there! No wonder Bloomberg won in a landslide and so many of our candidates were elected to office! Oh, wait, that was Queens. Brooklyn lost everything and went to Thompson, that’s right. I forgot hundreds of old ladies and failed candidates feasting on cheap food doesn’t translate into electoral success.

The question begs, what holiday parties for Republicans will the commentators on this blog hold to ensure victory’s for Republicans statewide and countywide?

The question begs, will the coverage of the YR Holiday party be just as negative?

The question begs, is this blog “Fair and Balanced” I think not?

You continue to say “the YR leader” and not Jonathan Judge. Perhaps you aren’t afraid your lies will get you sued?

Again, let me tell you that you had better hope no one finds out who you are, AAA. Mr. Judge, I believe, is not a public official but rather a private citizen. He is, as such, afforded a great many protections that public officials like Mr. Eaton are not.

As such, your libels will cost you dearly.

It is clear that not using his name is not going to get around that. Your intent and the fact that others have questioned you about Mr. Judge and that you have responded makes clear that you are aware that you are speaking against him.

Your lies will boil you alive.

The Truth is Out There…It Will Be In Mr. Judge’s Summons And Complaint If He Chooses To Go After You.

If anyone determines you have been lying, your speech is not protected.

Atlas should isolate your IP address and provide it to Mr. Judge so that he may conduct an investigation to sue you. I believe Gerry said he was fact checking your remarks?

The question begs, Larry Lawyer, are you and the rest of the commentators afraid of “Free Speech”?

The question begs, I thought this blog is supposed to be about being “Fair and Balanced”?

The question begs, is it only “Fair and Balanced” when it’s using our chair, state senator, 47th AD leader, and Capano as it’s own pinatas?

The question begs, Larry Lawyer, so quick to turn the subject shouldn’t this be about calling out the fact’s, that the Kings County Republican Party and 47th AD gatherings were both standing room only?

You should consult with your consort, The Great Craig Eaton. He is, theoretically, an attorney, no?

I think Mr. Judge can sue you for defamation (since he is a private citizen) for any reputation harms and seek compensatory and, my favorite, punitive damages from you for your continued lies, on which you’ve been called out.

A reasonable person (which you clearly are not) would be offended by the lies and remarks you have made against him.

As for the First Amendment, do your homework. It doesn’t protect all speech (like shouting “fire” in a crowded theater), and it certainly doesn’t protect weasels from spreading lies about a private individual online or elsewhere in public.

Public officials are not afforded such protection because political speech directed against them is nearly always protected (go Atlas!). Political speech is the great check on tyranny, which I believe is what this blog is all about.

Whether Judge sues you or not is a separate question.

You don’t seem worth it since you’re statements are not to be taken seriously.

I am merely issuing a warning to you, AAA, so that, if he does get hold of your IP address (via injunction or personal demand), it can be proven that you were aware that your conduct was defamatory and you continued to do it anyway.

Your continued commentary will make it very easy for a jury.

Anyone wonder why Jay Golub and Daniel Peterson are desperately trying to sell the fiction that the Brooklyn GOP is doing well?

Seems suspicious to me. They’re not apparently interested in facts. They even misrepresented how many people were at the party:

“UE staff was there to witness this past Thursday’s event in Bay Ridge, which was attended by nearly 400 people. The food served at Bay Ridge Manor was excellent and everyone was in great spirits.”

    http://www.urbanelephants.com/index.php/component/content/article/64/1954-brooklyn-gop-holiday-event-well-attended.html

The party’s website say says “350 Attend GOP Holiday Party.” UE overestimates and the party doesn’t? Hmm.

The question begs, facts are facts “Larry Lawyer”, the YR leader was not at both gatherings, is there anything your missing about that, let me repeat he was not there at both gatherings that’s not an opinion that’s a fact.

The question begs “Larry Lawyer” I thought commentators like yourself would want to encourage the exchange of open ideas and opinion not resort to action such as threatening to sue or anything else, doesn’t that go against, what this blog is intended to be about, or I must be missing something here?

The question begs, our chair continues day after day to push to victory for 2010, he was overwhelmingly re-elected, the question begs to you “Larry Lawyer” are you being paid by the opposition of our great chair?

The question begs, there is no fire being screamed anywhere here, the commentators here have amnesia about both gatherings, and there was no coverage until this commentator brought it up?

The question begs, this blog should be about leading the path to victory for 2010, statewide, and countywide, yet we are resorting to opinions of threatening other people, isn’t that the same thing you accused the same people you oppose of doing?

The question begs, is this about being “Fair and Balanced” or just subjective news like MSNBC?

Mr. Golub and Mr. Peterson support the nudnick Craig Eaton, which is myopic and foolish.

UE Editor-in-Chief Jay Golub and UE Managing Editor Daniel Peterson will regret their myopia when stuff comes out about Party shenanigans in Kings County.

They have that turnout every year. Nothing unique. Those parties are full because of the free food. That’s not success. This is just an attempt to aggrandize Craig Eaton and Golden, which is disgraceful because it’s disingenuous.

The only good news is that the party was called out for what it was–an ego boost–and that now that everyone knows what really went down, the deception is just as apparent as it has been all along.

Parties do not equal success or successful administration of a political party. Winning in elections is what matters. Eaton failed to produce ONE victor this year.

Why don’t you face these realities?

      • Jake RIIS permalink

To quote Eaton, “WHO CARES!?!?!?!” that he was “overwhelmingly” re-elected Chairman? Chavez is the elected President of Venezuela. Hitler was the elected Chancellor of Germany. Ahmadinejad is the elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. So perhaps when these leaders do bad things, we should only accentuate the positive and ignore the negative, just because we should all just get along? We should excuse Bloomberg now when he wants to pound the middle class with another new tax because he was re-elected on the Republican line?

No, wrong. NY23 is a perfect example of how this doesn’t work and the voters and Republicans simply won’t buy it anymore. If the Chairman wants to earn true respect, he should spend less time pimping out pathetic press releases about parties to overcompensate for his shortcomings, and more time organizing the county and Republican groups to fix the myriad blunders committed under his leadership thus far.

Competing about whose holiday party was more successful than whose is a waste of time, and to measure your political clout by the turnout of a party with free food and open bar is ridiculous. Anything less than at least 1,000 people at a free Republican function in a borough of 3 million people is a failure and a disgrace. Only a moron would be proud of less. An even bigger moron would then try to twist it into signifying something more than what it was: an over-glorified soup kitchen for seniors on the BOE payroll featuring as guests of honor the local self-congratulating GOP establishment.

More than that, no one is going to win an election because of it, and Eaton is not going to clear his name for his atrocities against the the hopes of our party because he or Jay Golub or Daniel Peterson tells everyone it was a success.

Failure is failure and just because we are all Republicans does not mean we should ignore the incompetence of our colleagues when it hurts us and our goals. Republicans, of all people, should do exactly the opposite! That’s what this blog has been doing, and that’s what a lot of other Republicans are doing, and thank God for that!

Eaton’s got a lot more work to do in 2010, but if he can’t hack it, then–re-elected or not–he should just get the hell out and let someone else clean up this mess.

This is understandable, and I share the disappointment of many in seeing that blog shift away from its roots. But frankly, the most interesting Urban Elephant posts have been Atlas posts, which is how I came to be a follower of this blog.

Now, AAA, you clearly have an overt agenda to cast Eaton and Golden in the best possible light. Of this, there can be no doubt. As such, I write these comment for those reading these blogs and not for you.

A creature such as you are cannot be changed.

But you do not seem to understand that you are hurting your cause and your argument by engaging in these repetitive, childish “question begs” parallel-structured lines that ultimately inform the reader of one simple truth.

That you are not to be trusted.

With that said, I follow my fellow commentator Bruno and will not opine further unless necessary.

Further, I commend my fellow Shruggers for their quite humorous and comedic antics today, which have kept me quite entertained.

In conclusion, allow me to state that this post is very well written, superbly structured, and makes an excellent argument.

Thank you for getting at the heart of the issues, Ms. Taggart.

The Framers of our Constitution risked their lives to protect religious liberty. A reference to our Creator is written in our Constitution. Article 6 of the Constitution states, “no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.” The Framers found it necessary to add the first amendment to protect religious freedom. Even with these protections, more laws were created to uphold our religious freedom by requiring “reasonable accommodations” to religious people in the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Today, religious citizens of the United States are now faced with a new adversary threatening to take away our religious rights. This comparatively new group was once referred by the U.S. Supreme Court Justice, Antonin Scalia, as the “Homosexual Agenda”.

This group lies to the public, claiming that they just want to be “married” just like everyone else, and that they don’t mean to harm anyone. The real truth is that they want to force the religious citizens of the United States to provide sinful accommodations to the homosexuals, such as a Church requiring to rent their space to a lesbian wedding, a Christian photographer required to take photos of a lesbian wedding, a NYC taxi driver required to watch homosexual activity in his own car, a social worker in ME prohibited from speaking freely, a lawyer barred from practicing due to his religious beliefs, a mayor in CA asked to resign, and the list is endless.

Our education is being attacked as well. At every chance possible the Homosexual Agenda is forcing religious students to believe that homosexual behavior is not sinful. They are forcing young children, as young as 2nd grade, to normalize homosexual behavior against the religious beliefs of the parents. They are manipulating the educational system by having public school teachers and college professors falsely instruct our students that people are born gay.

Civil unions is just a slick way to take away our religious freedom. This is the equivalent of saying we don’t have heart beat, we have heart tones. NJ recognizes civil unions, but not same-gender marriage, and the homosexual agenda was able to take away our religious freedom with civil union laws.

Our religious liberty is being attacked at all ends, and there is only one solution. Make same-gender marriage your number one issue and vote against it.

Eaton: “We have great young and energetic candidates on the GOP line for 2009, and that is a testament to the hard work of each and every one of our district leaders…”

Francisco: As John Stossel would say, “Get the Shovel.” Firstly, we would be unaware of any “young, energetic candidates” from the words of our Chairman’s speech, since he never mentions the most obvious ones. Funny thing, we did not notice Bob Capano mentioned in the speech at all… We wonder why? Are the rumors true a deal has been made between The Duke, The Golden Prince, Mayor Bloomberg, and Vincent Gentile to keep support for Capano at a minimum? Uh-oh… Maybe Golden is fearful of a Gentile challenge?

Eaton: “As I said before, we still have a lot of work to do, but I’m confident based on our relationship with Mayor Bloomberg, our relationship with Ed Cox, the new state chairman, we can and will build, we can and will grow…”

Francisco: How about “we could have built and we could have grown, but we chose not to?” Is that what you mean, Mr. Chairman? You have had two years to do the hard work, and now you want to start growing the party? Just now? This is the basis for your reelection? Forgive me, if I’m skeptical.

This blog has said plenty of great things about Republicans, but often not the Republicans the Brooklyn GOP establishment likes.

    • December 13, 2009 8:41 am

The problem with this blog is NOT that Jonathan Judge is praised. The problem is that the Republican Party leadership is being insulted. In fact, I attended the Holiday Party, and I will attend the YR Party as well.

To generalize the guests at the Republican Party’s Holiday Party as “pigs” is sinful. I personally didn’t eat a thing.

This blog continues to insult Senator Golden without regard to his latest accomplishment. Senator Golden helped protect marriage in NY. He personally convinced many senators to vote against gay marriage.

And contrary to what this blog implies, Senator Golden is very welcoming to new and active Republicans.

As I mentioned in a previous post, talk positive, not negative. If this blog wants to be “anti-Kings County Republican”, then talk positive on the YR’s and Ferraro instead of talking negative on the Party’s leadership.

Also, your time can be better spent helping a campaign. There are many people looking to run for public office. A whole bunch of Mikes in Staten Island and a small part of south Brooklyn. I am running in the 9th congressional district and I encourage someone in the 8th congressional district to run against the original sponser of the “Respect for [gay and lesbian] Marriage Act”, Nadler.

P.S. Please ask those questions to stop begging. It is annoying.

Senator Golden welcomed new and active Republicans all the time like Luke Vander Linden, Pat Russo, Bob Capano, Yvette Bennett, and many others, and look how far he took them! (cricket, cricket) Exactly. New and active Republicans are the greatest threat to the Prince and the Duke’s selfish fiefdom and they will stop at nothing to destroy new talent if they can. Mr. Hayon, don’t be so naive! You can bask in their glory now, but ask yourself how long you have before you’re next.

      • December 13, 2009 1:09 pm

This is not about basking in anyones glory. I am not a candidate for my own personal glory. I am a candidate to help protect our religious freedom.

I have never been involved in politics until last year, when I was quietly preparing my run against the Democratic Liberal.

I did not ask anyone permission to run for congress, I just did my homework and the Republican and Conservative leaders were impressed.

These Republican leaders include Senator Golden, Jonathan Judge, Craig Eaton, Yvette Bennet, Anthony Nunziato, Phill Ragusa, John Ward, Stephen H. Weiner, and the list is endless.

I have the support of Rev. Kieran Harrington and more than 30 local Rabbis in Brooklyn and Queens.

You guys are hilarious. An accurate story is written about an event that took place in Brooklyn and you attack UE as “bought and paid for?” You call myself and Danny Peterson “morons?”

You waste your time creating geeky references to Star Wars rather than going out and doing the real work of getting people elected.

Many of those who oppose Eaton so strongly were in a position to help Mr. Capano get elected, yet intentionally sat on their hands and did nothing.

Mr. Hayon is right when he says that you all would be better served by getting involved, rather than hiding behind the computer and threatening others with lawsuits and personal attacks.

You guys even waste your time saying UE is exaggerting the attendance of the Brooklyn holiday event when while I was there I did a general count. Sorry if I was off by a few people, but you guys tend to find scandal where it doesn’t exist at all.

You guys even attack UE now, when, if you did your reading, anyone would see we’ve been attacking and challenging the GOP at every level for years. And because we didn’t just do it from behind a computer, we’re now working to elect Republicans to office anywhere we can.

With every passing comment, the majority of the writers on this site are demonstrating they have little or nothing to offer the real Republican Party.

As for the accurate “count” you did, the Brooklyn GOP website disagrees and says only 350 were there. Maybe you sipped a little too much of Golden’s eggnog?

One of the reasons I wasn’t at the KCRP Holiday Party was because I didn’t get a personal invitation from Chairman C”TDOBR”E like at least some others did. Some people have been told that the more general method of posting invitations “probably didn’t work for you because the KCRP computer crashed.”

Has anybody else heard about this phantom crash?

At any rate, don’t feel bad for me. As was posted earlier, some of us were at the FIORELLO LaGUARDIA Regular Republican Club Christmas Party.
About sixty people, all storng supporters of the FLRRC, paid about $35 apiece and had a great night.

See my other posting about this event to see some of what the Ranking Member of the FLRRC, AF, really thinks about 2009 and 2010.

I know for a fact that the computer crashed because most of us were not on the computerized list. In fact, all persons above or below (I forgot which way it went) the letter M was not on the list at all.

Maybe the reason Joseph Hayon wasn’t on the computer list is that he didn’t vote for Craig Eaton at the KCRP 2009 Convention. The computer program must only send to Etonians—was Winston Churchill on the list?

The question begs, to you Staten Island Republican why don’t you get out of politics period, maybe you can help your chairman find out who is candidates are in 2010 and beyond?

The question begs, to you Staten Island Republican why don’t you go tell your Councilman who also represents Brooklyn to start coming to Brooklyn more often, oh I forgot he’s too busy fighting metal bats, and cussing out Swedish Reporters, I forgot that’s how Staten Islanders talk right?

The question begs, will the commentators of this blog finally recognize the momentum being created by the greatest chair the Kings County Republican Party has ever had, the greatest county chair of all county chairs, the greatest State Senator Kings County has ever had, the greatest State Senator of all State Senators, the greatest 47th AD Republican leader of all time, and the greatest AD Republican leader of all AD Republican leaders statewide?

The question begs, as the answer lies within the commentators of this blog, as Mr. Golub a friend to the Republican Party and respected leader called it down the line about Thursday’s event.

    ENOUGH about holiday parties!!!!!

Joseph Hayon was at the Manor last Thursday and thinks it was wonderful. He says that everybody who was there loved it.

What else needs to be said?

    Merry—Jolly—Ho, Ho, Ho! Bah—humbug!

That should cover it once and for all.

The question begs, will the commentators on this blog reveal what plans they have to help Republican candidates raise money countywide and statewide for the 2010 elections?

The question begs, will the commentators on this blog continue to distort the truth about respected leaders in the Republican Party such as Mr. Golub, the Urban Elephants, 47th AD Leader Gallo, Bob Capano, our great State Senator, and our great chair?

The question begs, will the commentators on this blog reveal their plans on how to help get Republicans to victory statewide and countywide for the 2010 elections?

The question begs, will the commentators on this blog hold any rallies like our great chair has to oppose President Obama’s failed polices?

The question begs, will the commentators on this blog began to be “Fair and Balanced” when it comes to all Republicans across this great state and borough?

The question begs, especially the commentators on this blog who love “Reagan” and “Beck” stand up for the leadership of this party who are leading us on the path to victory by planting the seeds with elected officials, county leaders, our great chair and new state chair to victory for 2010 and beyond?

The question begs, once again as the commentators on this blog continue to criticize a leader in the Republican Party such as Mr. Golub, as I thought this was a blog to help all Republicans and to advance the movement of Republican principles such as Mr. Golub has been doing for years and years?

The question begs, also to Mr. Hayon in what is he going to do to help raise money for his campaign, and what strategies does he have to take on an entrenched incumbent who has national recognition?

The question begs, will the commentators of this blog finally recognize the momentum being created by the greatest chair the Kings County Republican Party has ever had, the greatest county chair of all county chairs, the greatest State Senator Kings County has ever had, the greatest State Senator of all State Senators, the greatest 47th AD Republican leader of all time, and the greatest AD Republican leader of all AD Republican leaders statewide?

I’m done with these holiday parties, so I wasn’t at the Kings Conservative Party affair at Yellow Hook last night (12/14). Actually, another committment ran late and I could’t drop in on the Conservatives and their “friends”. But I did get some calls—

We are prepared to make a call in the race for congress in the 13th CD.
Our exit polling from the Conservative Party Holiday Party indicates that Miichael McMahon has won re-election. This is a hold for the Democrats. Mike Grimm and Mike Alligretti (briefly), but the “MIKE” who really counts was not there.

I really hope this is my “Dewey Beats Truman” moment, but I doubt it.

Jerry Kassar and his daytime boss, Marty Golden, were there. Only Jerry spoke, but without a “MIKE”. Craig Eaton was there chatting up various people.

Just remember because there was no “MIKE”—nothing really happened there.

“Stay out of Brooklyn, because obviously you are too stupid to understand what’s going on here or you intentionally don’t want to.”

No No No (if that really is your name), I do know what’s going on in Brooklyn. It’s the same thing going on in many places in the GOP today here in NYC. Instead of helping to make things better, the Republican Party is faced with scores of malcontents who refuse to join in the battle and would prefer to complain from the sidelines.

I understand why you all are doing this and, honestly, I was there at one point in my own political activity. Hopefully you will all stick around long enough to see that the problem with the GOP is NOT it’s leadership, by and large. It’s the fact that we’re outnumbered, we’ve been branded incorrectly due to the national GOP’s message and lack of outreach and we spend more time infighting than learning to work beyond minor disagreements within our ranks about issues and strategy.

I respectfully as you to try to move in a more collective train of action – it will help the causes you obviously support and will make many of the problems we all agree exist go away.

UE is owned by one person and that person will NEVER be bought. Trust me…

Bruno, anger management classes would be helpful at this point.

Regarding my leadership race, which you correctly note I lost, I was head to head with a billionaire’s resources. Bloomberg not only got my opponent on the ballot, he paid for his mail and put all his canvasser resources behind my opponent. Bloomberg even taped and paid for robo-calls against me.

I received 45% of the vote in my race under those circumstances. If you call that loss something to be ashamed of, you are more inexperienced in the political world than I even thought.

Besides, my battle was lost but my chairman won the war and as the newly minted Director of the Queens County GOP, I don’t think that Phil Ragusa ever felt “disrespected” by me in any way, shape or form.

Now if you would just let us know your real name, we could have an honest discussion about who is and who is not a “F&*in Loser!” Unfortunately, you are more than likely way too much of a coward to let the world know exactly who you are. Again, armchair politicians never have any effect on the political process.

Get out from behind the computer. There’s a world out there to explore…

If you really wanted the leadership, no amount of money in the world should have stopped you.
      “Newly minted” states two things:
      1. You are very green and lack political experience
      2. You bitched like a girl about your great defeat and the Queens leadership had to give you something to shut you the f#&k up.
Also, by crawling up Eaton’s ass, you are showing disrespect and lack of trust in Mr. Ragusa’s leadership.
Too bad you feel the need to be honest now, it shows that everything you stated earlier is bull sh*t.

Grinch Shows up at GOP Holiday Party:

    http://bayridgejournal.blogspot.com/2009/12/grinch-shows-up-at-gop-holiday-party.html

Pseudonymous blogger “Dagny Taggert”, of Atlas Shrugs in Brooklyn, was among the 350 people at the Bay Ridge Manor for the Brooklyn GOP’s annual holiday party this year.

Taggert’s bitterly satirical post describes a warm and cozy room full of sweet old ladies from the Board of Elections there to collect their kisses from State Senator Marty “the Prince” Golden.

Also there were Brooklyn GOP Chair Craig “the Duke” Eaton and State GOP Chair Ed Cox, along with a handful of the Republican candidates who lost last fall’s election.

The party can’t afford the cost of the dinner, said Taggert, who accused the Brooklyn GOP of having no vision, and called the event a “smokescreen” to hide its leadership failures.

With an historic election looming, Taggert said, Marty Golden has failed to deliver on his promise to end the local rift within the party.

Taggert pointed to the Brooklyn GOP’s “embarrassing” website as evidence of the fact that Golden and Eaton aren’t taking their leadership roles seriously. The website, to Taggert, symbolizes the local party’s lack of vision.

Because the Brooklyn GOP is unable, in Taggert’s opinion, to otherwise mobilize its base, it has turned to parties out of “desperation”, ignoring the need for a political platform and fundraising.

Holiday functions, said Taggert, will do nothing to help win the 13th Congressional District — and superficial fun won’t substitute for a plan.

The post from Atlas Shrugs in Brooklyn.

Elsewhere in the borough, the Brooklyn Young Republican Club is hosting its annual holiday party.

I promised my source a “decent interval” before making this report.

At a recent pre-holiday event, Craig Eaton was overheard conversing with Joseph Bova about [that *&%#@*1+=, Lucretia Potter].

It seems that there is some kind of investigation involving an Election Day incedent by one of the City or state IG offices, and Bova was none too happy about it. Supposedly they want some statements from some of Bova’s people who were at some of the 49th AD polling places. After Eaton said, “Welcome to my life….” Eaton and Bova discussed their versions of what happened vis a vis Potter at this or that polling place in the 49th AD on Election Day, as well as what calls were made to and from personnel at the Board of Elections downtown.

My sources have told me that Lucretia Regina Potter has made a Civilian Complaint about the police involvement (including several police cars and some senior officers) with her on Election Day— maybe she made another to one of the IGs—more likely, the Police Department made a referral because the Potter incedent was inter-departmental, involving both the police and the Board of Elections.

Joe Bova knew all about Potter’s civilian complaint—and that the first place where she attempted to make it refused to take it because it didn’t involve a police incedent in that precinct. Mary Rose Sattie was sitting closer to this Bova-Eaton conversation than my source, who said that she seemed very interested, but that she did not speak to Eaton. [Note: Sattie was probably indirectly involved in the Election Day incedent, since Bova said some of his inspectors had made calls to complain about Potter being at some polling places prior to the police intervention. There also was some connection between Sattie and the Board of Elections hired car that had driven Potter to some of the election sites on Election Day]

Although there was no arrest, it is clear that something was afoot intended to embarrass the Female Republican Leader of the 49th AD. “The question begs” (sic) was this a put-up job from the get-go between Eaton and Bova?
