Send Out An SOS: New GOP Website Not An Improvement, Embarrassing

December 3, 2009

With nearly 120 votes counted so far, the Atlas poll has indicated many are displeased with the new Brooklyn GOP website.

Just 7% of voters say that the new site is good but needs some improvement, while nearly 30% say the site is embarassing and fundamentally flawed.

But there’s an even more important number that should worry the webmaster(s) of the new site. Almost 65% of voters believe the old website, which was uniformly panned and criticized for its lack of updates and terrible format, was a better site than the one now.

As you may recall, I previously wrote a piece about the old Brooklyn GOP website, calling it a disgrace.

This new website, I must confess, is not much of an improvement, and the designers do not appear to be moving toward any kind of fundamental restructuring any time soon.

With this lack of effort on the part of the Brooklyn GOP leadership, you almost have to wonder if they still care about the website. For the sake of the party, we hope they do, or, at the very least, issue an SOS to someone who can fix the website.

Then again, maybe they already know too many have been alienated who might have offered helped. If they had acted sooner (such as in September, when I first criticized the site) maybe they wouldn’t be in this position.

I’ll continue to keep you updated on the status of the poll. Be sure to vote!

    Craig Eaton is clueless.

He would be wise to focus on his discombobulating legal practice and leave the Brooklyn GOP in the capable hands of people who care and who have more than a clue.

The “new” Brooklyn GOP website is undefined, lackluster and useless.

We all need to focus on the real enemy. That is the liberal democrats, who are infringing on our religious freedom by promoting gay marriage and mandating that the medical proffesionals accomodate women who want to electively murder their unborn babies and force NY taxpayers to foot the bill.

We need to stop fighting within and team up with all Republicans. United we stand, but where is the unity? It takes two to fight.

Divided we fall… and boy is the Republican party falling in NY, but this can change, if we agree to stop focusing on revenge and focus on helping candidates win elections.

Why give our real enemies more ammunision.

Our real enemies are turning our true conservative friends, who support conservative values into enemies.

Maybe you all can learn a lesson from the Thundercats.

No one would like more than I to put the past behind us and move on to restoring our party. Many out there are doing so without the establishment’s help or support. Nevertheless, the party will never be healed until the carcinogenic leadership at the top is sterilized.

Olive branches have been extended in the past, Mr. Hayon, and they have not been thrown to the ground by the reformers who seek a better Brooklyn GOP. Craig Eaton did that all by himself. He now has his minions scurrying about going after a blog instead of heeding the call of this blog to promote change.

The onus is on him to build the party. He is the PARTY LEADER. He should start acting like one and learn effective politics. He could bring peace tomorrow if he wanted to.

He has indicated such peace is not in his own personal interest.

You see, his ego is so great that the thought of doing anything that anyone else, especially Atlas Shrugs in Brooklyn, could even slightly take credit for is nauseating for him.

If Marty Golden and Craig Eaton truly started pursuing a reconciliation agenda, then I would agree with you.

They have not. They have gone on the assault. Eaton, at the very least, has. If this party has fallen apart, it is because he is an ineffective and pathetic leader.

His hubris is hurting us all, and that’s the truth.

We can do all we want by ourselves, but until we take the party back from this fool, we’ll always be outsiders and not Republicans.

That’s the terrible and sad truth of it all.

Hello Joseph Hayon. Maybe you should learn to use “spell check?”

The Brooklyn Republican Party – the “Duke of Bay Ridge” and “The Golden Prince” are uniquely part of the problem in our Kings County GOP.

We are being led and mismanaged by Fifth Columnists and “internal saboteurs” of a wretched sort…. “flotsam and jetsam” indeed.

Synonyms for “mismanaged” are misconduct, misgovern, mishandle, and misrule.

Joseph Hayon, you sound like a member of the NYS Conservative Party….? Isn’t Jerry Kassar a “big shot” of in State Senator Marty Golden’s district office? And he is also Brooklyn Conservative Party Chairman?

Who is Jerry Kassar? Vice Chair of NY State Conservative Party, Chair of the Kings County Conservative Party; Treasurer of Interstate for the Arab-American Institute. This information is all publicly available and on the World Wide Web.

“Right now, Golden’s Senate payroll includes Jerry Kassar—chairman of Brooklyn’s Conservative Party—as a $98,000-a-year aide. Golden has had Conservative Party backing ever since his days in the City Council.”

Planet Earth to Marty’s supporters: Marty is no conservative or Conservative, small “c” or capital “C”

Does Jerry and Marty have a conflict of interest too! No surprise there – part of the Craig Eaton-Bay Ridge “oligarchy.”

There are two primary ways to circumvent a challenge. A right way and a wrong way. This is not correct. Slander is always wrong, except for a direct purpose. In this case, writing how terrible a website was created is slander that has no purpose and is sinful.

    Name calling is also sinful.

In the Bible, Miriam got leporsey for talking slander. This slander and name calling absolutely must stop.

Instead of writing negative articles on atlas, write positive articles. For example, don’t say how bad skim milk tastes, say how good whole milk tastes.

And who cares if Craig Eaten has eats potatoes or wears only Nike sneakers. Why his personal life must be posted? That is not party politics, that is revengful and sinful.

I am not disputing nor supporting your points, rather I am pointing out that two wrongs don’t make a right.

There is a right way to restore our party. I started a Republican Club at Kingsborough Community College. I have been knocking on doors, talking to my neighbors on the real issues and convincing them to become a registered Republican. I spoke to my community leaders to get support for the party.

I hope that this forum will start posting things on Anthony Weiner instead of Craig Eaton, because Anthony Weiner cosponsered the “Respect for [gay and lesbian] Marriage Act”, opposes school choice and supports taxpayer funded elective abortions”. He also opposed holding the UN accountable for missing US donated funds.

How about focusing on the Assembly in the 41 and 59 that voted for gay marriage. These districts are full of conservatives.

    Call out Speaker Quinn.

Everyone is hurt, but we need to walk away. Refocuse, and we can take back the Republican party by calling out the Liberals.

Not to be rude, but you need to wake up, Joseph.

“Don’t say how bad skim milk tastes, say how good whole milk tastes”?

The whole case of milk is rotten.

If you or the GOP leadership can’t tolerate the slightest bit of criticism, then let’s just let them walk all over the reform movement in Brooklyn. Let’s sit down and watch these fools embarrass us. Uh, no way.

We need to grow spines and man up!

Let’s be honest: the website is a disgrace, as Dagny said. The party could have done everything it needed to fix it properly. They had people they could have turned to, I’m sure people even on this site that comment from time to time. They didn’t. Now, we are all paying for it. They cannot raise funds with a derelict website.

We need to be as critical as possible to make change happen. Sitting down and getting in touch with our softer sides is not going to stop political thugs from running amok and ruining this party.

As for this being sinful, let me tell you, Joseph, that the greater sin is tolerating wrongdoing rather than stomping it out. We all have a responsibility to do just that.

I humbly apologize. I should make better use of “Spell Check” too!
I’ll re-do it. I meant lead, not “led.”

“We are being lead and mismanaged by Fifth Columnists and “internal saboteurs” of a wretched sort…. flotsam and jetsam, indeed.”
