Evidence Connects Former Golden Aide Gallo to Alleged Impersonation on Atlas

December 2, 2009

Well, things aren’t looking good for Russell Gallo.

The former campaign manager for City Council candidate Bob Capano and one-time aide to Sen. Marty Golden (aka “The Golden Prince”) remains in hot water for the comments he allegedly made under a false name here on Atlas Shrugs in Brooklyn.

After emailing Mr. Gallo, I am personally convinced that Mr. Gallo and the person who impersonated Brooklyn Young Republican President Jonathan Judge on this website are one in the same.

We submitted the following letter to Mr. Gallo prior to my earlier post on this matter:

Dear Mr. Gallo,

We here at Atlas Shrugs in Brooklyn (atlasshrugsinbrooklyn.wordpress.com) were curious about a recent set of comments on our Atlantic Yards post. One, written by a “jon judge,” said: “go bob, i got ur back.” Oddly, after some careful research, we learned this comment was also written on the same computer as the person who wrote a comment as “Russell Gallo.”

We were drawn to this particular situation because we noticed a subsequent comment from a “Jonathan Judge,” who emphasized that “This is the real Jonathan Judge speaking.”

While we encourage people to comment freely (whether they use their real identity or not), Atlas does not tolerate identity theft or impersonation. As such, we are emailing you to ask you one simple question, which we hope you will answer promptly.

Did you write either comment or both comments written by ‘jon judge” or “Russell Gallo”?

We appreciate your time in answering our email.

Mr. Gallo submitted the following coarse response:

I do not impersonate people. I enjoy your blog and like Jonathan personally. I welcome any and all inquiries no matter how silly they are at face value.

I do stand by my comments which were directed to all of the previous posts including “jon judge”.

As for having “plenty of explaining to do”- get a life.

Sorry if my response wasn’t as cordial as Jonathan’s.

I welcome any and all inquiries no matter how silly they are at face value…

Ok.

Maybe you should have just confessed, Mr. Gallo.

You see, the most significant thing I learned from his email is that Mr. Gallo wrote the comment under the name “Russell Gallo.”

Unfortunately for him, this admission links him to the comment made by “jon judge.” Both comments were made from the same computer, and now, Mr. Gallo has linked himself with the same computer as the one that produced the comment impersonating Mr. Judge.

Why is this important?

It merely demonstrates the tactics and the lengths (however petty they may be) that members of the Brooklyn GOP leadership will take to discredit people and/or impersonate them. While this particular incident is, in the great scheme of things, a minor problem (albeit a bigger embarrassment for Mr. Gallo and his former employers), it should put you all on notice of what people in the establishment are willing to do, unfortunately.

Those that engage in such tactics for illegitimate ends must be put on notice that they will be personally called out and exposed.

If you want to be critical of someone or someone’s actions or policies, be my guest. Impersonation, however, is inappropriate will be monitored and prevented. If you foolishly connect yourself to such impersonation, we will find out and put it out there.

Don’t be distracted by this foolery, but be wary of what some out there (apparently individuals like Mr. Gallo) are willing to do.

Shameful.

It’s a sad day when these childish tactics are employed by Republicans against fellow Republicans with no aim in mind toward removing blight from the party or promoting reform.

The party leadership has crafted their own demise by alienating others and by their constant and consistent failure. They have deserved every bit of criticism they have received.

      Speak truth.

    There is no party leadership.
It has become every man for himself and the party be damned.
There has not been an official party executive meeting since May 2009, over six months ago!
There have been private or secret meetings amongst the chosen ones, those that freely wear the dog collar around their necks, and those that are beholden because of their little jobs.
The leadership is afraid of discourse and spews the same old rhetoric.
No one wants to know what they are going to do, the fact is they have accomplished nothing at present.
    The Brooklyn GOP is finished.

The answer AAA is that the truth is out there already.

The party leadership is afraid of debate.

The commentators on this blog have made no secrets of the ineptitude of the party leadership.

No one, except the party leadership, makes deals with the devilish Democrats.

There is no excuse for poor party leadership.

The “gang of four” are prisoners of their own device, and have precipitated their own decline.

The “leaders” of the party are prostitutes and will work with anyone that pays their price.

The “something else” is about to be uncovered and displayed for the world to see!

I donated to numerous campaigns more than once, so don’t go fishing where there are no fish to catch. You continue to make assumption after assumption about the people on this site without knowing anything about them.

My issue is less with the candidates and more with the ineffective and pathetic leadership at the top that continues to alienate and hurt our party. Enough is enough.

The only thing we know is that the party has mismanaged funds and done nothing vital to support local candidates besides providing lip service, if that.

You continue to say “the YR leader” and not Jonathan Judge. Perhaps you aren’t afraid your lies will get you sued?

Again, let me tell you that you had better hope no one finds out who you are, AAA. Mr. Judge, I beleive, is not a public official but rather a private citizen. He is, as such, afforded a great many protections that public officials like Mr. Gallo and Mr. Eaton are not.

As such, your libels will cost you dearly.

It is clear that not using his name is not going to get around that. Your intent and the fact that others have questioned you about Mr. Judge and that you have responded makes clear that you are aware that you are speaking against him.

Your lies will boil you alive.

The Truth is Out There…It Will Be In Mr. Judge’s Summons And Complaint If He Chooses To Go After You.

If anyone determines you have been lying, your speech is not protected.

Atlas should isolate your IP address and provide it to Mr. Judge so that he may conduct an investigation to sue you. I believe Gerry said he was fact checking your remarks?

“The dearth of leadership in the county party, starting with its illustrious Chairman Craig Eaton—The Duke of Bay Ridge, Formerly of the Democratic Party (or so rumor has it)—is evident to all who take less than a minute to consider the “successes” of the Kings County Republican Party during the tenure of its present host of troglodytes. The illustrious Chairman—Primate of the Church of Political Failure—and his minions—the sad, lowly serfs of his empty promise agenda—have engaged in a systematic policy of intimidation and political thuggery that has alienated current Republicans and prospective Republicans even more. As a result, we are facing one of the worst periods our local party has ever faced.”
