Christie Reconsiders Run For Presidency

Newsmax is reporting:
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is reconsidering his decision not to enter the 2012 presidential race — and he says he will let top Republican donors know within days about his plans, Newsmax has learned.
During the past few weeks, several leading Republican donors and fundraisers have been urging the popular Republican governor to reconsider his decision not to run and to enter the GOP primary.
These Christie supporters note that significant GOP support has remained on the sidelines of the primary fight. Many leading fundraisers have yet to commit to any current primary contender, including frontrunners Rick Perry and Mitt Romney…

Potentially, a big twist in this race if it does happen…

When was our last pudgy president, corpulent commander in chief or chunky chief executive.
Christy is a little slimmer in the photo above, but he still looks like he’d rather be in a Pancake House or a White Castle than the White House.
I’m for Herman Cain!

Somebody should have “Reconsidered…” posting the recent picture of Assemblywoman Malliotakis and State Senator Golden holding onto a mini-Golden thing. This has to be the creepiest picture of State Senator Martin Golden to date. Somebody on a GOP legislator’s staff screwed up big time on this one. Just take a look at what was certainly released by either Golden’s or Malliotakis’ staff.
This is exactly what Annie Liebovitz tries to get her subjects to do to – reveal their deepest selves and inner secrets by a slyly posed photograph that tells a story. What story does the picture posted at “The Brooklyn Politics Blog” http://www.thebrooklynpolitics.com “Photo of the Day” 3:06 pm • 23 September 2011 tell you?
A couple of weeks ago, eaton again rushed to endorse someone “first”- specifically Rick Perry in the NY Post- is he still sticking with that???????
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has many options on how to run as a “Republican for President in 2012″ without jumping into the primaries and caucuses. One is to have a phantom candidacy and run outside the GOP primary-caucus system. In that scenario, significant GOP money would stay on the sidelines waiting for a “clear winner” to emerge from the GOP primaries and caucuses; Christie could remain very visible on the national stage, but not as a declared GOP candidate and media flacks could talk up a “Christie Draft” pushing for an “open convention”; if no “clear winner” emerged from the declared candidates who were bloodied and depleted in the primaries and caucuses, the money and organization waiting on the sidelines would pop up for a “Draft Christie” campaign going into and at the GOP Convention.
A more intriguing strategy would be to eschew the Republicans completely in 2011. A completely INDEPENDENT CANDIDACY by CHRIS CHRISTIE FOR PRESIDENT would be bigger than any such candidacy to date. The “Republican” brand is as unpopular as the “Obama” brand. If Christie ran as “Neither ‘Obama’ nor ‘Republican’,” there is a potential cascade, avalanche or landslide in the making, which could well propel Christie into the White House as the next President without any “Republican baggage” in toe.
In the comment above, the line: “A more intriguing strategy would be to eschew the Republicans completely in 2011.” should have appeared as the following: “A more intriguing strategy would be to eschew the Republicans completely in 2011 and 2012.”
Just like in 2010, in 2012 there will be tremendous ferment inside the Republican Party coming from the TEA PARTY and others like them.
According to Grant M. Dahl in the CNSNews blog, “ The Tea Party, which played a prominent role in several Republican primaries in 2010, has set its sights on removing more “Establishment” Republicans in the 2012 primaries.” Mr Dahl’s article describes the probable GOP primary challenge of Indiana State Treasurer Richard Mourdock against Indiana Senator Richard Lugar.
http://www.cnsnews.com/blog/grant-m-dahl/tea-party-opposing-more-establishment-republicans-20
Can we expect a similar phenomenon locally, here in Brooklyn? The way Brooklyn’s GOP blog has attacked Brooklyn Tea Party President Joseph Hayon, it looks like the Brooklyn Republican Establishment might be hearing footsteps coming up behind them.
We can hardly wait to see what happens next.
At the Republican Convention, Joseph Hayon used one proxy to abstain from voting for Eaton’s slate. I was curious as to why. He said it was a request from Rochel Wiessberger to vote against the slate.
Joseph Hayon seems to have his own rules when it comes to politics. I wouldn’t call it honesty, I would call it representation. If a proxy was given to Craig Eaton under those conditions, he would be a mad cow.
One thing is a definite. Tea Party President will work with anyone who is focused on the real fight — taking back our government.
“Golden And Malliotakis Win Big [Playing Ping Pong] At Third Avenue Filthival!!”
Earlier today, Provisional GOP Leader Craig Eaton’s principal flacking furblogger, “AAA”, touted State Senator Martin Golden and others at the annual Third Avenue Filthfest in “The Jig is Up Atlas”. Typically for Eaton, this is politically tone deaf, because most of the Bay Ridge-ites we know have grown to hate this event, including several of the Third Avenue Merchants. Many are also growing to hate its precursor affiliated Golden Missus-’n-Kiddies romper-rumpus the Rags-’n-moppets Parade just as much.
This is all part of a $$$$ scam involving these events that’s been swept under the carpet for years; and the Third Avenue Merchants and Bay Ridge politicos, Republican and Democrat, won’t look closely into the running of these events. That needs to be done sooner rather than later.
When this little “Chick-Filet” comes home to roost, maybe it will be closer to State Senator Golden than the others. (Of course, not only is Eaton’s neighbor the State Senator and another neighbor intimately close to him involved, so is Eaton’s nearest Provisional Vice Chairman)
Meanwhile, as our GOP electeds ping pong, “Rome Burns”… A solid Bay Ridge institution– Hinch’s Ice Cream Parlor closed. Bay Ridge’s main business avenues are becoming increasingly and quite visibly blighted. Meanwhile, the local incumbents, Democrat and Republican, play political ping pong to the cheers of the local inky rags, and GOP Chair Craig Eaton and his “…Jig is Up…” crowd.
The “Occupy Wall Street” demonstrations are neither lawful nor orderly.
The national “Occupy “X” demonstrations, which are copying the “Occupy Wall Street,” are neither spontaneous nor well-intentioned. Several unions, and now the Democratic Party, including top-dog Obama and deputy-dog Biden have spoken favorably with these protests; and there are some indications that they will be aligned or even allied with them. This weeek, even the Brooklyn Democratic Leader was over with the “Occupy Wal Street” bunch.
The rhetoric is increasingly inflammatory. And insurrectionist or revolutionary jargon are increasingly being uttered by participants and their allied “observers” and “commentators” in the so-called “MSM”.
Apart from any economic “protesters” — crime is generally on the rise in virtually every community.
LAW AND ORDER is back on the table as a political issue. However, real Republicans, conservatives and libertarians should be aware that totalitarians, right and left, are in the wings waiting to take advantage of any emergent crisis.
The “Rule of Law” should be the first thing that we should firmly assert in our PUSH BACK against the “Occupy Wall Street” crowd.
In the Jig’s post, “Introducing The Strongest Republican In New York City: The 47th Assembly District Republican Club!!” they feature Russell Gallo who is well known for discriminating against Jews, blacks, the poor and homosexuals.
Russell Gallo is the very reason why Jews won’t vote for him. He is well known to either hate Jews or keep them out of his presence. The perfect example would be his dislike for Avi Rosenberg and David Strobin.
This is the same Russell Gallo that impersinated Jonathan Judge, right here on Atlas.
Russell Gallo makes fun of Jews that won’t shake hands with opposit sex, but he won’t shake hands with homosexuals. He makes fun of blacks being on welfare.
Russell Gallo only likes Jews that will kiss his ass and his cross, such as Joan Braunstien and Eugene Pevzner.
Otherwise, he keeps all Jews out of his 47 AD.
When Bob Turner found out Russell’s liabilty as someone who discriminates against blacks and Jews, Russell Gallo was removed from his campaign.
Now Russell Gallo brags about his little-di-do about nothing.
If I was John Galt, I would add giving coverage to Joseph Hayon and Peter Cipriano as the clear underdogs, their survival makes them true winners, and who knows, maybe now these two independents have learned what the Brooklyn GOP is really about.
What cross? Russell Gallo has sex with his girlfriend. This is a huge no-no in the Catholic community. You act as if Russeell hates just Jews. He hates his own Catholic community. He hates muslims too. He hates anyone religious.
Did James McCall and Joseph Hayon co-write this post?
Why did Joseph Hayon refer to himself in this post, is he black or is he Jewish….
He is on welfare that we know.
Though why would Joseph Hayon refer to his biggest supporters for district leader?
Is that something they want to disclose at this point or confirm?
We do know one thing Bob Turner was not supported by Joseph Hayon.
Neither was Craig Eaton….
Joseph Hayon voted against Craig Eaton and the Brooklyn GOP at the convention.
Most importantly Jews, blacks, Catholics, and all races rejected the racist Hayon.
Kiss, Kiss.
Why did Joseph Hayon hold a tea-party meeting on 9/11?
Doesn’t he have sympathy for the lives that were lost on the biggest attack on our nation’s soil?
I guess remembrance of the dead mean nothing to Joseph.
How racist and how un-tea part like, and how un-American.
I heard before that Craig Eaton needed ventilation over his nemesis Bob Capano being hired as Congressman Turner’s Brooklyn & Queens Chief of staff..
WOW what does eaton and the jig do?? attack Turner, praise capano or put head in the sand and pretend this didn’t happen, a lose-lose for craigy.. i would love to be a fly on Eaton’s phone!!
It’s now happened often enough that we can start calling it “The Craig Eaton Style” of GOP leadership.
With Congressman Bob Turner’s announcement today that Bob Capano, has been put in the key District Director slot, Turner has showed that Capano, the veteran community servant, who has worked for both Democrats and Republicans, has been recognized as a key Brooklyn (and recently Staten Island) Republican operative by the newly-elected Congressman from Brooklyn and Queens. If not Capano himself, certainly those behind Capano are circumscribing the boundaries of Eatonland. Anybody who’s played the board game RISK knows what comes next.
To briefly recap, in 2010 Bob Capano was part of the Michael Grimm operation in Brooklyn. During that campaign, Eaton’s hate blog “The Jig is Up Atlas” proclaimed Capano’s political demise (they’ve done that to a lot of people). In that 2010, Capano and several other Brooklyn Republicans backing Grimm drubbed the Eaton lead Brooklyn GOP in the primary against the Eaton- and Golden-backed favorite son Michael Allegretti.
Following the 2011 special election, Craig Eaton took a lion’s share of the credit for Bob Turner’s big win in Brooklyn. Others in the know said that Turner and his handlers were very unhappy with the work done by Eaton and Eaton’s right hand man, Russell Gallo, who had to be removed as Turner’s point man in Brooklyn in the later stages of the campaign.
If Craig Eaton’s nose is out of joint from this nobody will even know about it. By putting Bob Capano, who’s had a rocky relationship with Eaton in the past, into the spot as his District Director, Turner has in effect put Eaton into his proper place as far as the 9th CD is concerned — Eaton’s stuck with his nose in the corner.
it is pretty funny how eaton, berardelli and the Jig are paralyzed by this and don’t know what to say..
Gene Berardelli seems to think that Barack Obama has been in office four years (talking about how much ground we’ve lost in the four years that Obama has been in there).
At least that’s what he mentioned on Brooklyn GOP Blog Radio tonight.
Not even three years, Gene.
congratulations congressman turner on a good top staff pick in bob capano. you have gained the support of many republicans, independents, and democrats throughout brooklyn.
i will be supporting bob turner in 2012.
I too will be supporting Bob Turner again
Is Craig Eaton going to join the “Where’s the Obama Birth Certificate” crowd in an attempte to be relevant again?
His chosen candidate for President of the United States, Risk Perry (oops, we meant Rick Perry) is shooting from the hip himself in attempt to get back into pack of GOP leading candidates. This time it’s by mentioning his conversations with Donald Trump, and his lack of strong conviction that President Obama has really shown us a legitimate birth certificate.
The pro-Obama media is all over Perry for this. Has Eaton spoken to either Trump or his chosen presidential candidate about this? In any case, where does Kings County Republican Chairman Eaton stand on the issue of Obama’s birth certificate?
Do you remember those happy days at the end of 2009 when on October 29th this blog posted: “Capano’s Campaign Manager Threatens ‘Regime Change’ Retaliation in the 49th AD on Day of Debate”? A little water has passed under the bridge since “than” [sic, an “AAA” Jiggerism]….
“Regime Change” was tried and re-tried … some of it was interesting none of it very effective, “…but the times – they are a changin’…”
It’s 2012 and remember that “R” stands for Republican, Reform AND Regime Change…
Dump ALL long-term incumbents… especially if he’s a phony Republican-Conservative…
“Payback is MOFO”!!!!!!
NOTE: 2012 begins in Election Day 2011……
“R” stands for…..
REAL REFORM REPUBLICAN “REGIME CHANGE” REMAINS RELEVANT (in Southwest Brooklyn AND wherever else “HE” runs)

if it did, things like: “‘daily eagle: golden prince now faces three challengers, blog criticism, and tremendous party friction’ April 30, 2010 by midas mulligan” would still be regular fare in these parts.
the way things stand right now, it really looks like justin brannan is still completely “inside their head” at the brooklyn gop hate blog and inside many other of the goldenistas’ skulls. the thought andrew gounardes already has senator martin’s supporters’ guts doing backflips; and it’s not even 2012 yet.
too bad atlas shrugs in brooklyn doesn’t put up new posts anymore.
asib could put up huge eaton caps asking, “WHERE IS CRAIG EATON???”
maybe republican string-puller ssmg has seen the error of his ways and is greasing the skids for “the great i am” eaton. it should have been bob howe back in 2007, but now it’s too late. like republican string-puller ssmg, howe stood by eaton and supported his shenanigans far too long; they’re all part of the same stale gop stew.
look for eaton to resign sometime soon for “health reasons”.
let’s see what happens next.
too bad atlas shrugs in brooklyn doesn’t put up new posts anymore.
otherwise, john galt would be asking state senator martin golden if he supports the current tax deal and legislative christmas tree that adds revenue by a permanent left wing soak the rich “tax reform”; creates old-time religion inner-city jobs programs; amends the nys constitution for gambling casinos and a ton-and-a-half of other cuomo-silver-skelos beads and trinkets for assorted indigenous in immigrant nys indigents, gold bricks and golden fleecers.
Today December 7, 2011 marks the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. May we never forget those brave soldiers that died and shed their blood on that day defending our freedoms. May God always watch over them and bless their souls. Please if you meet a Veteran please thank them for their service to our country. Without them we would not be a country. Thank you, and may God always Bless America. Glenn P. Nocera President of the Brooklyn Young Republican Club. Going Strong Since 1880.
Kudos to Gatemouth and Room Eight for calling out State Senator Golden and Brooklyn GOP Chairman CRAIG (not Greg) Eaton, who if not the posting bigots themselves, begat the bigots at the Brooklyn GOP hate blog, “The Jig is Up Atlas”.
“The Jig…” is a hastily gathered bit of flotsam that has been operating since the end of December 2009 under the transparent auspices of Golden and Eaton, who are clearly its principle beneficiaries. Originally, “The Jig is Up Atlas” attacked the few cadres of independent Kings County Republicans who opposed Eaton as Kings County Leader; along the way they attacked the candidacy and US Marine Corps service of Michael Grimm.
In recent months, after failing in its efforts against Eaton’s Republican opponents, “The Jig…” has become more viciously focused on the incipient Democratic threat against Marty Golden most recently presented by Mr. Gounardes and his supporters.
It is widely suspected that two key Eaton operatives, Eugene Berardelli and Russell Gallo, are among a very small group putting out what “The Jig is Up Atlas” itself had referred to briefly as the “Brooklyn GOP Hate Blog.”
In keeping with its “Animal House” persona, tonight TJIUA posted “We Love Gatemouth” together with several phony “comments”… Don’t that beat all!
too bad atlas shrugs in brooklyn doesn’t put up new posts anymore.
john galt, dagny taggart, hank riordan, midas mulligan and the rest would certainly have liked to point out that almost every part of the brooklyn gop blogging machine, other than “the jig is up atlas”, is slowing down and very little new material is seeing the light of day. it would appear that tjiua is sucking up all the air in the room and the “official” brooklyn gop blogs are gasping.
According to the Post : “What is it with New York Republicans, anyway? They talk a fiscally tough game, but when it’s time to raise taxes, they poodle right up like loyal Democrats. *** Republicans are supposed to understand the corrosive economic consequences of tax increases. And yet, last week the GOP-controlled state Senate blithely joined forces with Gov. Cuomo to hike taxes and suck an extra $2 billion, net, from the economy. *** Not a single Republican senator voted against the hike.” Adding insult to injury, rather than explain why they reversed on their pledge not to raise taxes, many key Republicans simply lied and said it was a net tax cut for the middle class. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/editorials/new_york_republi_crats_nnPYBzxpkt9LIvWwxcSe1M#ixzz1gO3Ika51
In short, all of the New York Senate Republicans just sold out and signed-on to Democrat Andrew Cuomo’s version of Democrat Barack Obama’s politics of envy and class warfare.
The following posts on the Brooklyn Establishment Republican’s hate blog, “The Jig is Up Atlas,” which appeared on Tuesday and Wednesday show that the Craig Eaton faction of the Brooklyn GOP is still obsessed with the (independent) Brooklyn Young Republican Club:
Wednesday, December 14, 2011
“Introducing Glenn Nocera’s Very Good Friend Michael Grimm Protester Louis Perrotta.”
Tuesday, December 13, 2011
“Introducing The Newest Stars Of The Sequel Of Dumb And Dumber.”
It’s big news and big doin’s for Eaton’s guys to come with a few photos from last Sunday’s (independent) Brooklyn Young Republican Club Annual Christmas/Hanukkah Party. TJIUA’s photos show a packed house; not bad for a political club that “The Jig is Up Atlas” and its (regular staff) commentators say no longer exists. It must have been a reunion then!
“Show me the money!!!!!”
Wasn’t that line very big a few years ago when Cuba Gooding Jr., Tom Cruise and Renée Zellweger were a lot younger?
More recently, Craig Eaton’s KCRP used to brag about all the cash in their accounts. No bragging lately, though (even in “The Jig…”); for good reason — it looks like there is no more “cold cash” on hand.
Where has all that money gone?
No one wants to donate to a Republican Party busy fighting their own. The Republican hate blog causes potential donors to keep their wallets shut tight. Then the Republican Party needs to depend on selling their Wilson Pakula to raise any funds.
As usual, the Brooklyn GOP and its media outlets, “The Jig is Up Atlas” and “Brooklyn GOP Radio” can’t stay out of their own way. That’s very odd since it’s largely attorney Eugene Berardelli (very largely) and a small coterie (very small) doing all of it.
Doesn’t the graphic look like “The Jig…” found “Brooklyn GOP Radio” to be the “Buffoon of the Year”? You betcha, it sure does….
From what we’re hearing this is typical of the mixed messaging one gets from Mr. Berardelli in personal conversations and in his legal papers, whether on his own toot, on behalf of the Kings County Republican Party or at his day job for The Novo Law Firm.
One wonders how Bob Turner let himself get sucked into this. His staff should be making sure that the Congressman from Brooklyn and Queens DOES NOT GET HIMSELF INVOLVED in the constant in-fighting in the Brooklyn GOP, especially with the two, count ‘em TWO (2), Brooklyn Young Republican Clubs…
During the campaign, somebody bungled by mis-applying a $1000 donation that came from the well-established, long-running (since 1880) Brooklyn Young Republican Club headed by Jonathan Judge and Glenn Nocero to the parvenu and on paper only “Young Republicans” operation set up by Craig Eaton and headed by Russell Gallo. It was very interesting that Gallo, who was the Brooklyn GOP coordinator for the Turner Campaign until he got booted, never got around to correcting the mistake. Now, Turner’s office has screwed-up again; this time by sending a generic “Happy Holidays Thank You” to Gallo’s YRs and not to the Young Republican Club that did most of the work in the special election campaign.
It would seem that Bob Capano, Turner’s top man in the district, should have helped the Congressman to steer clear of this mish-mash .
The Brooklyn Young Republican Club is committed to ensuring that the people of the 27th State Senate district receive an honest and effective Senator to represent them in Albany. We believe the good people of this district deserve to be proud of their Senator again. We will be working tirelessly on making sure that person be a honest Republican, with values that reflect this great district. Far to long Brooklyn has endured the corruption from Vito Lopez’s Democrat machine. We will work with anyone who is willing to ensure that the 27th State Senate district and for that matter Brooklyn is finally done with the boss Tweed style of government, that the Democrat party has been fostering for years under the leadership of Boss Lopez. The Brooklyn Young Republican Club which was founded on the principles of ridding government of corruption over 131 years ago, stands strongly committed in making sure this goal becomes a reality.
Glenn P. Nocera President of the Brooklyn Young Republican Club. Going Strong Since 1880.
Republican Chairman Craig Eaton continues to struggle at being relevant as the nominal head of the nominal Republican Party in Brooklyn. His most recent vanity concoction fell on it’s face like his not-so-long-ago endorsement of Rick Perry.
Eaton’s recent gambit was asking Governor Cuomo to schedule a special election for Kruger’s state senate seat to coincide with the GOP April 2012 Presidential Primary.
Eaton was quickly shot down in a rant by Gatemouth on “Room Eight”; then somebody called “Gerry O’Brien” commented that Eaton was in this all on his own.
This is too funny, by Gatemouth
“Gerry O’Brien, a smart and talented operative who knows his way around a sentence (putting the lie to the rumor he writes the semi-literate homophobic GOP HATE BLOG “Craig’s Dick Is Up My Ass” –or whatever it’s called) did a great job here.”
In response to “The Jig is Up Atlas” Saturday, December 24, 2011 post:
“Merry Christmas Jiggers”, “[somebody under the name of] Glenn Nocera said… *** As one of the leaders of the Republican Party in Brooklyn I am calling for this stupid in fighting, that’s been going on for over 2 years to end already. We can not afford to continue down this path. We need to fight Democrats not Republicans. Both these Blogs are a disgrace to the Republican party, and anyone who is behind these blogs should be ashamed of themselves….”
“Glenn” [assuming that you are not the real GN], you couldn’t be more wrong. The splits in the Brooklyn GOP are very significant. Right now, winning the fight inside the GOP is more important than papering over the faultlines and electing anybody just because they have a sticker on their pictures saying “Republican”. Furthermore, there is no moral or substantive equivelence between what appears here on “ASIB” and what gets posted and commented upon in “TJIUA”.
Keep this up, and we’ll have to start calling you “Berardelli’s Mini-Me”!!!!!

Martin Golden’s Member Items Help Group That Helps Him
By Chris Bragg
http://cityandstateny.com/2012/01/martin-goldens-member-items-help-group-that-helps-him/
Brooklyn Sen. Martin Golden has steered at least $770,000 in taxpayer funds to a nonprofit neighborhood group he founded, which often used the money to sponsor events that promoted the senator, records and interviews show.
The member-item spending went to the Bay Ridge-Bensonhurst Beautification and Preservation Alliance, which held a summer concert series and ran a free bus service for neighborhood seniors – both named for Golden.
The nonprofit’s executive director lobbied Golden last year about a bill the senator later introduced. Its main paid consultant for the concerts was also a paid staffer in Golden’s Senate office at the time. And Golden himself is still listed in state records as the nonprofit’s registered agent.
Golden’s top aides say the deep connection between the senator and the nonprofit poses no conflict, and also reflects an Albany custom of directing member items to groups linked with governmental staffers – at least until then-Attorney General Andrew Cuomo cracked down starting in 2007.
“A few years back the practice was fairly common, but I think it’s more recently been shied away from,” said Jerry Kassar, Golden’s longtime chief of staff, who spoke on the senator’s behalf. “We checked everything out, and you wanted to be sure you were in a situation where no one was asking questions. But there was definitely a point where the attorney general suggested these types of relationships no longer exist.”
The tight web of connections between Golden and the Bay Ridge-Bensonhurst Beautification and Preservation Alliance shines a spotlight on just how those relationships function – and on how they have proven increasingly controversial.
Before 2006, the Senate did not even identify the sponsors of member items. In the last two years, however, the state eliminated member items entirely to balance the budget. The increased scrutiny came as city and state member-item scandals erupted in New York City and Albany – most recently, when an aide to Queens Sen. Shirley Huntley and three others were indicted for allegedly bilking a nonprofit founded and largely funded by Huntley.
Susan Lerner, the executive director of Common Cause New York, said the relationship between Golden and the nonprofit he founded raises clear questions – even if all the group’s work is legitimate.
“One of the big problems we see is that there’s all sorts of creative ways to do good while doing publicity at the same time,” said Lerner. “There’s nothing in the law that prevents this, but yet it’s deeply unsettling.”
Brooklyn Republican Boss Craig Eaton (he wishes!!!) and his Brooklyn GOP hate blog, “The Jig is Up Atlas,” have taken tone deafness to a new level.
TJIUA’s January 5, 2012 attempted beanball at Boyland and the Democrats doesn’t recognize that Eaton’s only home grown elected official, State Senator Martin Golden, may be facing the same kind of chin music in retaliation. Word on the streetis that we can expect something more from some local Dems over the questions raised by Chris Bragg’s article (see above) concerning the incestuous financing of the Bay Ridge-Besonhurst Preservation and Beautification Alliance.

Yesterday, Governor Andrew Cuomo gave his formal State of the State speech, laying out a legislative agenda for the next year. In response to that, Republican State Senator Marty Golden stated his disappointment with Governor Cuomo’s for not developing a full plan to address public safety and fraud. Now, his Democratic opponent, Andrew Gounardes, is criticizing Senator Golden’s criticism.
“Unfortunately, Marty Golden strangely chose to criticize our Governor for being weak on public safety, despite the fact that the Governor proposed expanding the DNA database to cover all crimes,” Mr. Gounardes said in a statement this morning, apparently undaunted about challenging Senator Golden, a former police officer, on public safety issues.
Mr. Gounardes then digs up the past and calls Senator Golden’s criticism “hypocritical and disingenuous,” due to a 2010 vote on legislation to require ammunition to have traceable microstamping. Senator Golden had missed the vote, but said he would have opposed the bill anyway.
“Marty Golden’s criticism reeks of Casablanca,” the 26-year-old Democrat summed up, referencing the 1942 film famous for a scene containing fake outrage.
Due to his connections to Senator Mike Gianaris, who heads the Senate Democrats’ campaign efforts, and his increasingly visible support from the Brooklyn Democratic organization, Gounardes looks to have the inside track to the Democratic nomination. However, depending on the final district lines, he’ll probably have an uphill battle to unseat the popular incumbent with strong fundraising chops.

A Bad day For Marty Golden
posted by Gatemouth
Thu, 01/05/2012 – 8:18am
Some time in the late fall came news that the Brooklyn Democratic Organization was actually interested in beating State Senator Marty Golden.
First elected in 2002, when a clusterfuck of Democratic disloyalists, led by Carl Kruger, and including Dov Hikind, Mike Nelson, the Garson Crime Family and Steve Harrison jumped ship on a Democratic incumbent, Golden was unopposed in 2004, 2006 and 2008, often because of the active intervention of the organization (although purportedly anti-organization Democrats like Harrison also played a role).
By contrast, in 2010, a Democrat did run, and the Party made less than a pro forma effort to help him.
Some suspect all this was because the County organization was just too cozy having a Senate Republican around to do some of their contracts.
Others called it smart politics.
For years, local Democrats and Golden sycophants alike articulated the theory of The Mythical Golden Effect, whereby a challenge to the Bay Ridge Bloviator would result in so much money and effort expended on Golden’s behalf that it would impact against all local Democrats.
When this was actually tested, in a very bad year for Democrats, the numbers pretty much proved that The Mythical Golden Effect did not exist, though that didn’t stop those with an interest in maintaining the status quo from maintaining that it did.
In fact, in a bad Democratic year against the worst possible Democratic candidate –an openly gay leftist in an area that prefers its Democrats (and Republicans) to be closeted gay conservatives—Golden’s victory was not all that impressive.
The Sen Dems now have their anointed one—a bright young man with supposed access to money named Andrew Gounardes, who, upon opinion and belief is a protégé of Queens State Senator Mike Gianaris, who heads the Senate Dems’ Campaign Committee.
Gianaris is a Greek-American, and comes from the City’s largest Greek community, Astoria. Gounardes is a Greek-American and comes from the City’s second largest Greek community, Bay Ridge.
Word is that in exchange for supporting Gounardes, Kings County Democratic Leader Vito Lopez was promised support by the bipartisan Greek political money types for the Comptroller campaign of Lopez favorite, Councilman Dominic Recchia. (Perhaps the recent coziness between Lopez loyalist District Leader Kevin Carroll and Greek-American Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis is part of the same package deal).
Jonathan Yedin, a bright young Lopez protégé who had been the Party’s Executive Director and who’d been running for the Golden Senate seat, quickly took a dive, and Vito introduced Gounardes as the anointed one at the Party’s Christmas party.
It now appears that Lopez will pull out all the stops necessary to make it look like he is pulling out all the stops for Gounardes. Come the fall, if it looks like a rabbit can be pulled from this hat, Lopez might actually even go for broke and really work the race.
But that is not the sole bad news for Golden these days.
Yesterday, City Hall News put the spotlight on Golden in an uncomfortable manner, spotlighting a group he’s funded bigtime.
The Bay Ridge-Bensonhurst Beautification and Preservation Alliance was founded by Marty Golden around the time he decided he wanted to run for office. It has been financed with tax dollars by Republican electeds who wanted to help advance Golden’s career, and it exists solely for the purpose of publicizing Golden at taxpayer expense (I will spare you a blow by blow of the details, except to note that there seem to be even more blanks yet to be filled in, and they are probably not pleasant—go read the link).
Therefore, I am renaming the group with a moniker which reflects both its politics and its inspiration. From now on, it shall be known as “The George W Bushwick Center.”
Actually, that’s unfair to Vito Lopez.
The Alliance is not a social services agency like Ridgewood-Bushwick, which came into being for its own reasons and then evolved into a political empire to further its social purposes. The Alliance is a political machine which runs programs and distributes money only because doing so furthers its political purposes.
Yesterday also brought us the guilty plea of Carl Kruger’s co-defendant Richard Lipsky.
As Kruger aficionados know, perhaps Kruger’s closest non-sexual associate, other than mother-in-law Dorothy “Hot Dot” Turano, was lobbyist Lipsky.
They’ve been thisclose.
The most hilarious non-Turano related detail of all the recent Kruger stories is that when investigators searched Lipsky’s apartment (with Kruger repeatedly calling during the visit), they found $106,000 in cash, $4,000 of it in a suit pocket to facilitate easy access.
So guess what?
A very quick review of Marty Golden’s Campaign Committee filings reveals the following gift.
Filing Year Contributor Amt Date
2011 LIPSKY, DOROTHY 3,000.00 18-DEC-10
Just in case it isn’t obvious, this Dorothy (as opposed to Kruger’s Dorothy) is Richard’ wife (out of courtesy and because I had trouble formatting, I’ve left out Dorothy Lipsky’s address, but rest assured, it is the same as Richard’s). You know, the person who makes sure that the cash left around the house is nicely cleaned and pressed.
Apparently, in this case, it was pressed upon Marty Golden.
Really, Marty, isn’t it time to return this money?
Dorothy could probably use it.
http://www.r8ny.com/blog/gatemouth/a_bad_day_for_marty_golden.html
OMG, Marty Golden took some of the Kruger-related “Cold Cash”…
Is the FBI looking into this?
Is the US Attorney looking into this?
Is DA Hynes looking into this?
State Senator Golden “…has blood on his hands.”"
State Senator has to “…give back the money.”
“GOLDEN…BLODD ON HIS HANDS… GOLDEN…GIVE BACK THE MONEY!!!”
In preparation for some big dealings involving The Kings County Reoublican Party, its executive committee, several of its key operators (individually and in their capacity as Kings County Republican Party officers and executive members), a statistical analysis of the material appearing in the Brooklyn GOP hate blog, “TheJig is Up Atlas” disloses that the hat blog’s principal beneficiary is Brooklyn KCRP Chairman Craig Eaton (who conveniently is also a very “deep pocket”).
Let’s see what happens next……
“…Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” — Winston Churchill after British victory in the “Battle of Egypt” [the second battle at El Alamein] and news of the successful “Operation Torch” [the Allied invasion of western North Africa: the U.S. forces at Casablanca; and Commonwealth forces at Oran].
A similar momentous event happened in Brooklyn GOP politics yesterday. Under several threats of lawsuits, one such being the comment above, the nabbobs of the Brooklyn Republican establishment decided to put one of the Craig Eaton-Gene Berardelli-Russell Gallo media monsters under an electronic lock and key. KCRP Chairman Craig Eaton’s hate blog, “The Jig is Up Atlas” has been put into the “LOCK BOX” that had been unused since it was mentioned in connection with the Social Security Trust Fund during the 2000 Presidential Campaign.
Let’s see what happens next…
Certainly, one would expect public apologies from Eaton, Berardelli and Gallo. That and some cold cash from the KCRP and a couple of other “Deep Pocket(s)” in lieu of compensatory and punitive damages would also seem to be in order…. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ! ! ! ! !
It had been observed from the very outset of the Craig Eaton regime at the head of the KCRP that Eaton’s Brooklyn GOP establishment sucked at media. Now, after several years and elections, it looks like Eaton has given Berardelli an absolute and unrestricted agency to run all of the Brooklyn GOP’s media, including the Brooklyn GOP hate blog, “The Jig is Up Atlas” and other media PR operations, such as relations to the MSM.
Attorney Eugene Berardelli is as effective as a hands-on political media and PR operative as the immediate operators and crews of “Titanic,” “Hindenberg” and “TWA Flight 800″ were as passenger safety providers.
While “The Jig…” parrots Berardelli’s stuff from another Brooklyn GOP blog (a truly bizarre new spinoff on the “Narcissus and Echo” theme), a city-wide/national magazine has reported on its political guy’s visit to Brooklyn GOP headquarters focusing on Berardelli and his very overworked right hand, Russell Gallo, and various other odd denizens at the location on the night of the Iowa Caucuses. This coverage is so indescribable, you need to see it for yourself….. http://www.newyorker.com/talk2012/01/16/120116ta_talk_marantz …. It looks like Berardelli and company were merely there to be props for a very liberal/radical hit piece on socially conservative Republicans, like Rick Santorum.
Keep up the good work, Gene!
Attorney Eugene Berardelli of the Novo Law Firm and Law Vice Chairman of the Kings County Republican Party is manifestly of the school of thought that there is no bad publicity. People desparate for recogniton usually are. That is the only possible explainanation as to why his immenseness seems to be proud of the piece in the New Yorker by Mr. Marantz that is mentioned above.
On the other hand, Mr. B might be a lot smarter than most people think. If advancing the public image of the Brooklyn GOP and that of its chairman, Sheepshead Bay attorney, Craig Eaton, is not his goal, then Berardelli has acheived a lot in the way of creating sound and fury signifying who knows what…. When and If we ever find out what that is, Mr. B may turn out a genius.
Until that day comes, “What a maroon”!
Whatever the minions do they are still under the control and leadership of Senator Marty
Golden and operate with his blessing. Marty must be so proud of his hate machine (the Brooklyn GOP) and his hate blog TJIUA.
The mere appearance of a legitimate Democratic candidate, such as Andrew Gounardes, has caused the State Senator Marty Golden machine to suddenly sputter and backfire; and can a perceptible stall be that far behind? A competitive evironment has also led to the kind of investigative scrutiny that Bay Ridge Manor Martin only used to get from The Village Voice and some LGBT blogs and rags.
Cracks are showing in the Golden facade indicating flaws in its structural underpinnings. The Golden camp’s recent unforced errors, obviously in reaction to some of Gounardes’ early gambits, and the bad media damage control following those screwups show major weaknesses with Golden’s staff and with his consultants. A recent spate of bad city-wide press is just one example. Neither Golden nor his staff is very good at very much beyond local PR stunts, fund raising and fund-dispersing.
Without the help of ALL of his powerful and near-powerful friends, State Senator Golden really can’t control very much. Since so many such “”friends” are neither reliable Brooklyn Republicans or committed Kassar-style Conservatives, they might be up for grabs if just plain Martin Golden continues to falter or if the golden Greek Gounardes picks up a little more steam.
Right before Craig Eaton’s hate blog, “The Jig is Up Atlas,” became an “eyes only” “top secret” underground operation a few days ago, it put out two, count ’em two (2), posts about KCRP Chairman Craig Eaton’s most recent endorsements. One was for Mitt Romney, to be the GOP candidate for President of the United States and the other was for David Storobin, who is running in a Special Election to fill the Kruger vacancy in the New York State Senate. Were these two posts the reason that cellblock TJIUA went into almost complete lock down?
What we do know is that these endorsement choices by Eaton are as unprincipled, puzzling and problematic as had been his choice a few years ago to back somebody named George Smith (well, you just do the computer search on that one and see what you think – it’s that incredible).
The Romney endorsement is a strange one even for Eaton. Hadn’t Craig Eaton already endorsed a candidate who’s still in the race, Rick Perry? That’s what the NY Post reported last summer ( NY Post, August 31, 2011 by S.A. MILLER in DC and CARL CAMPANILE; http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/romney_heads_to_texas_to_mess_with_msQ40JsTLdsTgNsNudrU2L#ixzz1jT33M8tl . We’ve searched and have found no correction to that Post article, nor have we found any explanation by Chairman Eaton about the now-contradictory stances on presidential candidates. That leaves open several questions, the most interesting one being, “Will Chairman Eaton be endorsing Gingrich, Santorum and Ron Paul, as well?
The Storobin choice is decidedly more imminent and more troubling. Since Chairman Eaton had a virtual carte blanche in selecting the GOP candidate in this Brooklyn Special Election, one would have expected a complete and open vetting process. Uh-uh! Not in Eatonworld…. As a result of the flim-flam approach that was followed, the Eaton crowd wants the Brooklyn GOP and the general electorate to think David Storobin is a Cracker Jack Republican candidate, instead what everybody is going to get is a large firecracker with its fuse fully aflame. Before David Storobin’s GOP candidacy is over with, George Smith will look as clean as the woman on the Ivory Snow box by comparison.
If I were Eaton, I’d want all of this kept as secret as possible myself.
A comparison of the endorsement postings that appeared in “The Jig is Up Atlas” immediately before it went “secret” showed that they tracked very closely with two postings in the “Brooklyn GOP Radio Official Show Blog” authored by Gene Berardelli. The latter appeared with the dateline: “Tuesday, January 10, 2012″.
The titles of the posts on both blogs were virtually identical:
“Brooklyn GOP Chair Craig Eaton Endorsements – Part I: Mitt Romney for President!” and “Brooklyn GOP Chair Craig Eaton Endorsements – Part II: David Storobin For State Senate!” So were the photos of Chairman Craig Eaton and the endorsed candidates, Romney and Storobin. The layouts and appearance of the postings in both blogs were quite similar, although the posting in “The Jig…” had an overlay of routine TJIUA gibberish along with highlighted material identical to that appearing in the “Brooklyn GOP Radio Official Show Blog”.
Although one might readily conclude that all of these postings shared a common authorship, Gene Berardelli: only the ones appearing in the “Brooklyn GOP Radio Official Show Blog” actually carried the “Gene Berardelli” byline.
Rumor has it that some very powerful democrats and RINOs contacted Gerald Obrien and had him shut down the “jig.”
Eugene Berardelli and Russell Gallo (Head Moron In Charge) had their (there) arms twisted by Golden’s other henchmen Obrien and Kassar who themselves are rumored to have authored anonymous attacks all over the internet including the “jig” against republicans and democrats alike.
As far as I have heard Craig Eaton was clueless. Big surprise.
Where have James McCall, LRP, and JJJ gone? If there was ever a time for “regime change” it is now.
Throw ALL the bums out starting with Golden and going straight down to Eaton, Gallo, and Beradelli.
The realer deal is Gerald Obrien could no longer collect his fee from the KC Gop.
In the days leading up to the “jig” becoming a sign-in access blog, a few people who spoke to O’Brien and he mentioned to them that it was possible that something was going to be done about the “jig” because so many people didn’t like it.
Was that just a coincidence? Probably not.
The only “people” who “didn’t like” the “jig” anymore are those who could no longer receive pay for their services. O’Brien is to the “jig” like Axelrod is to Obama.
Rumor has it that issues that were raised in Senator Marty Golden’s office and pushed by several members of his staff have further fractured the already broken Brooklyn GOP.
As evidence I submit an email that has made its rounds by being forwarded to several GOP insiders. The orginal author would shock and scare most GOPers in BKLYN. The sentiment of the following text is not an isolated one I can assure you.
Let’s see what happens next…
email text:
Gotta be honest, I don’t see the point anymore in going all out for anyone anymore. It’s clear that they’re about aiding and helping Democrats and keeping their shrinking positions which they will eventually lose. I would help specific ADs that’s about it. The Brooklyn GOP within 10 years will be Manhattan and the Bronx, but that’s the way they want it.
David Storobin was one of David Weprin’s (democrat that lost to Bob Turner) biggest donors. Check the Board of Elections disclosure reports.
I wonder what Bob Turner thinks about that one?
David Storobin is running for the 27th Senate District which cuts through the 47th and 48th Assembly Districts. However, a search on the Board of Elections site reveals that Storobin (a supposed Republican) never gave any money to Brian Doherty or Phyllis Carbo; both of whom were candidates for the assembly running on the Republican line.
I wonder what Russell Gallo and Elaine Guido think about that one?
David Storobin is also rumored to have supported Peter Cipriano (Storobin gave him money) and Joseph Hayon. Hayon incidentally was defeated in his bid to topple the Brooklyn GOP choice for District Leader Boris Pincus.
I wonder what Craig Eaton thinks about that one?
David Storobin has Joseph Hayon on his team. Hayon is a guy that believes that if homosexuals pray then they can be cured.
I wonder what Storobin thinks about that one?

Eugene B and R. Gallo, both well known authors of the Jig hate Jews with a passion.
In the above post by “Storobin Is A Democrat”, R. Gallo, the real author, attacked everyone Jewish or supportive of Jews.
David Storobin — Jewish
David Weprin — Jewish
Peter Cipriano — not Jewish — supported Jews and was supported by Jews
Boris Pincis — Jewish — attacked by the Jig
Hayon’s Jewish belief on homosexuals
Fidler should play the racist card.
Gallo did what to help his fellow Jewish Republican David Storobin?
Attack Storobin on the GOP radio.
Gene B. is the smartest and most powerful Brooklyn GOP leader. A lone individual managed to ensure GOP losses throughout Brooklyn by influencing the rest of the GOP on the most lousy talking points and acting only to ensure a GOP loss.
1) Republicans can’t win
2) Supporting and opposing wars int he same breath
3) Refusing support fromt he YR’s when running for office
4) Promising support, but never fulfilling it
5) Unless it was to ensure the loss of the better candidate in a primary
Gene B is a loser. He is the brains behind the current GOP juggernaut.
God help us.
Speaking of losers, has anyone heard from his balding sidekick Russ G?
Didn’t think so.
As they say (or used to), Payback is a mofo.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Scary stuff, kids!!!!!!!!
Things like: “The Return of AAA” — OOOOOOH! Gotcha, didn’t I;
BOOH!!!!! “Breaking News: Brooklyn GOP Radio Credentialed For CPAC”;
“Embattled City Comptroller John Liu’s Electric Problem” AHEEEEE!!!!;
“An Inside Look At The Thomas Jefferson Democratic Club.” Sorry, not scary, really boring;
“Will Lew Fidler Denounce Frank Seddio?” …snzzzz…ornkgh…. ornkgh…snzzzz (sorry dozed off there)
Okay, it’s the routine crap from you’re favorite old “The Jig is Up Atlas” crew led by our favorite Morons Number One and Number Two, the Bevis and Butthead of the Brooklyn GOP, Berardelli and Gallo.
Follow them now at: politicsinbrooklyn.blogspot.com/2012/01/…/.html
Little do Jake and the Fat Man know but those who are planning to attend CPAC are already laughing at these two macaloons.
What interesting dinner conversation the two of them will make with snickers ,snide looks and sniggers directed at these two buffoons.
“Let’s toast the great Brooklyn GOP” they will declare with great glee and a song;
While whispering about “the Brooklyn Republican Party really belongs to Mike Long!”
On January 12th Gene Berardelli and Russell Gallo’s program devoted significant time discussing the special election in the 27th Senate District. Moron #1 and Moron #2 spent most of the time in that segment with various disparaging comments about the Democrat candidate, Lew Fidler; interestingly, none of their chatter contained anything to convince any real Republican or conservative minded voter to support David Storobin.
Maybe, the January 19th GOP Blog Radio program will actually talk about who Storobin is and what he really stands for. Almost everyday lately, there have been disclosure and charges indicating that David Storobin and his blogs might have been associated with extreme right-wing and racist blogs. These kinds of charges need to be addressed sooner rather than later. Either debunk them or acknowledge them — don’t ignore them.
As for discussion of presidential candidates, the most pithy quote of the week was from District Leader Gene Dougherty: “I Like Perry, to be honest with you… I want an arch-conservative, I want a tyrant…” (Berardelli and Gallo seemed okay with that).
Gene Berardelli and Gallo also let it slip that “Brooklyn GOP Blog Radio” was following a “new format”…
This was something that occurred simultaneously with the lockdown of “The Jig is Up Atlas… that’s interesting
Eugene Berardelli is clearly becoming the Brooklyn Republican Party’s Joseph Goebbels. (Don’t Eugene Berardelli and Joseph Goebbels fit nicely in a sentence together; and how many things can fit nicely with Mr. Berardelli in any other limited space?)
Somebody (and we suspect it’s self-promoter Berardelli himself) is putting it out there that Congressman Turner’s win in the last special election and David Storobin’s expected strong challenge to Lew Fidler is somehow connected to Mr. Berardelli’s horrible City Council race against Fidler in 2009. That tidbit of propaganda showed up on two successive presentations of the Brooklyn GOP [Blog] Radio program. One of those kudos for Berardelli was attributed to The Beloved Leader Kim Il Eaton.
However, clearly more worthy of inspection and condemnation are the rants of that racist propagandist and sociopath, Russell Gallo. His military, strategic and geopolitical insights run the gamut from “hate” to “homicide”. To him war means killing and that means killing everybody if necessary in order to win (One can guess that Gallo is not a follower of Sun Tzu). Ole Sarge Gallo again showed his rank disrespect for his own chain of command from the top down by saying they were despicable for calling for criminal investigations of the videos showing U.S. servicemen defiling corpses in the Afghan War. He tried to prove his point by saying that during World War II in the Pacific we burned people and that everybody knows that Lincoln’s generals, Sherman and Grant, would be found guilty of war crimes if their deeds had showed up on YouTube.
As we noted in the January comment above, preposterous claims were made by Russell Gallo and Gene Berardelli (along with the attribution of simmilar comments to Party Chairman Craig Eaton) that Mr. Berardelli’s 2009 hard-fought race against Councilman Lew Fidler was the beginning of the Republican turn-around in southwest Brooklyn.
Yesterday, Republican Candidate David Storobin put out a press release that put Mr Berardelli’s 2009 campaign in a somewhat different light; he referred to candidate Gene Berardelli as “a non-existent opponent” to Councilman Fidler.
Gene B — non-existent? How’s that possible?!? Whenever it gets dark, they ask Gene to move away from the sun.
This is how Russell Gallo thinks and is quite happy to present to the world as his version of good Republicanism: It’s good to present Obama and the Democrats as making America the “Food Stamp Nation”; it’s even better to do that and present the Republicans as the party comfortable with making America the “War Crimes Nation”.
Gallo is so extreme in his latter point of view that had an “on air” [really "on blog"] meltdown on this week’s Berardelli-Gallo GOP [Blog} Radio show over the thought that 20% of Republicans anywhere might be supporting Ron Paul for President. Gallo says that Ron Paul and Paul’s libertarians aren’t real Republicans, because they didn’t and still don’t support George W. Bush’s wars.
That seems to be a Gallo litmus test for good Republicanism: FOR WARS, GOOD — AGAINST WARS, BAD!
Here’s how the candidate most recently backed by Brooklyn GOP Chairman Craig Eaton did at last night’s debate in Tampa —-
Romney was asked how he could reconcile his pledge that he wouldn’t order mass deportations of undocumented immigrants with his promise to crack down on illegal immigration. Romney answered, “…self-deportation.” According, to Romney, if the nation’s immigration laws are enforced undocumented workers will return to their home countries once employment opportunities dry up. “If people don’t get work here, they’re going to self-deport to a place where they can get work.”
BRILLIANT! That’s the best Romney quote since Mitt Romney’s dad said that he’d been “…brainwashed…” about Viet Nam.
btw, soon afterward a questioner pointedly asked if we can call “self-deportation” an illegal immigration enforcement program or policy, then isn’t that’s what is in effect right now.
Is Mitt Romney’s “self-deportation” immigration policy based on an assumption or a hope that some time in the near future there will more jobs opportunaties in Mexico than there would be in the United States?
It sure seems that way. Otherwise, how would it work?
He’s the same key man who did as much or more to deliver the Brooklyn section of the 9th C.D. for Bob Turner than any other Brooklyn Republican last year.
If it’s possible to bail out David Storobin’s badly started campaign in the 27th State Senatorial District, one Sephardic Orthodox Jewish Republican man might be the one person to do it.
The word is that a majority of “theological” or scholarly Orthodox Jewish “leaders” who backed Congressman Turner in his special election have already committed to backing Lew Fidler in spite of his liberal position on “social issues” in the current “special” in much of the same area. Only one person can do the kind of heavy lifting necessary to turn them around.
Must be Ed Koch!
What happened to the “Storobin for Senate… Must be Ed Koch” reply to the comment above?
“Ed Koch” was such a great guess except that he’s NOT FROM BROOKLYN…NOT REPUBLICAN…NOT A SEPHARDIC ORTHODOX JEW and arguably very unlikely to any heavy lifting to turn around the “theological” or scholarly Orthodox Jewish leaders from supporting Lew Fidler, because
[wait for it]… ED KOCH IS NOT SUPPORTING DAVID STOROBIN AND IS SUPPORTING LEW FIDLER
Out of nowhere it just reappeared — crazy stuff, kids….
Are you going to take that sitting down, or are you going to do something about it?
The Brooklyn GOP’s NEW HATE BLOG, “POLITICS IN BROOKLYN,” is every bit as hateful and unprofessional as its direct predecessor, “The Jig is Up Atlas.” It remains the very visible expression record of the lack sense and sensibility of the Brooklyn GOP Chairman, Craig Eaton.
And the lack of sense and sensibilty of Eaton’s master Marty Golden
Truth said…
Fredric Dicker’s column in the January 30th New York Post, “New York GOPers fearing a ‘disaster’ Gingrich victory”, said it all when it came to the who, what, where and how New York Republicans are getting it all wrong trying to pick a presidential candidate and to run a successful party in New York. Now, some of these guys have shown their filthy hand as to why their backing Romney and others are even ready to give up on Romney to back an uncommitted slate. All — ALL because they fear that a real Republican, like Newt Gingrich, at the top of the NYS GOP ticket in 2012 will be too tough for them to deal with. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/new_york_gopers_fearing_disaster_SuwdHfVxFrFXcqLAmtuSEM#ixzz1l0Scv6Lq
In short, each and every Republican “leader” quoted by Fred Dicker showed their lack of core Republican principles and their cowardice. They are a bunch of self-servers first and principled Republican Party activists not-at-all. To them, it looks like 1964 and Barry Goldwater all over again. For the rest of us, we can only wish it were so.
The New York State Republican Party represented by the “leaders” in the Dicker article needs to be battered down in 2012; and a Newt Gingrich Presidential Candidacy is the perfect battering ram to do that. With Newt at the top of a GOP ticket it will mean “out with the old” Republicans and “in with the New Republicans.” IF NEWT WINS nationally his people will sweep into the NYS Republican Party and take no prisoners. If NEWT loses, we start with a NEW Republican Party in New York — it’s a WIN-WIN!!!!
Support Gingrich for President now and he’ll support a real new GOP in New York for the foreseeable future.
David Storobin needs to stop the bleedy about any skin-head connection to his nationalist-internationalist blogs.
Attempted secrecy and stonewalling at press conferences with his Rabbi won’t cut it.
Storobin needs to re-release his blog articles that have been taken down — unless, of course, they really are racist.
What’s been quoted so far — apparently attempting to justify Serbian genocide in the Baltics is not a very good start.
Storobin’s photo album doesn’t prove a thing about his possible skin-head and other extremist “CONNECTIONS”.
Brooklyn GOP Regulars Gene Berardelli, Russell Gallo, Vinny Boccino, and Henry Malave [all Eaton supporters] are the voice of the Brooklyn GOP that regularly can be heard on Brooklyn GOP [Blog] Radio. Just like the perps who operated the virtually defunct blog, “The Jig is Up Atlas” and now maintain the currently active GOP hate blog “Politics in Brooklyn,” these individuals engage in incendiary and hateful speech posing as political commentary. — WITH HELP LIKE THIS… WITH FRIENDS LIKE THIS… The GOP in Brooklyn doesn’t need enemies.
This week they featured attacks on every Republican Candidate for president including Romney and Gingrich. Semi-regular Jacob Kornbluh unequivocally attacked everybody but Mitt Romney, saving his most potent venom for Newt Gingrich. — WITH HELP LIKE THIS… WITH FRIENDS LIKE THIS… The GOP candidates who will be running in Brooklyn don’t need enemies.
Brooklyn GOP [Blog] Radio also announced that it would be the Wednesday Brooklyn GOP operation at the David Storobin Campaign Headquarters for the 27th State Senatorial District. Interestingly, they joked how it is actually located on Coney Island Avenue inside the senate district of Marty Golden. — WITH HELP LIKE THIS… WITH FRIENDS LIKE THIS… David Storobin doesn’t need enemies.
Everybody, should take a good close look at the January 25, 2012 posting ostensibly by Russell Gallo in “Brooklyn GOP Radio — Official Show Blog”. It’s entitled “Rise Above Lew Fidler’s Hate” http://brooklyngopradio.blogspot.com/
Is there anybody out there who thinks that Russell Gallo wrote that item? Gallo’s got as much … er…straw as the Scarecrow had before he met the WIZ. That hysterical hissy fit of Fidler bashing, desperately trying to get Storobin’s chestnuts out of the fire, is much too corpulent for Gallo.
“Corpulent”, hmm — as in “Supersize it”. Oh, that’s it — JABA GENE!
There was a comment that appeared briefly on the blog, “Room 8″, which “appeared” as if it were from some Russian-hating Democrat from the 27th Senatorial District in Brooklyn. The comment complimented
“Gatemouth”, somebody who regularly posts on “Room 8″, for exposing David Storobin as an agent or deep-cover mole placed in the United States by Vladimir Putin and other Russian nationalists.
Shortly afterward, a counter-comment appeared that charged “AAA” or some other Brooklyn Rpeublican operative had made the comment under a “false flag”. The counter-comment specifically named Jaba Gene Berardelli as a top suspect as the internet agent provocateur.
Both comment were soon scrubbed by the moderators at “Room 8″
Ah, such a lonely job. “They” are the trees that fall in the forest with nobody there to hear them. “They” are the media crew of the Brooklyn Republican Party during the regime of Craig Eaton. “They” have shut down Brooklyn GOP hate blog #1, “The Jig is Up Atlas” and have replaced it with Brooklyn GOP hate blog #2, “Politics in Brooklyn”. “They” want the world to think that “They” are now only “AAA”; however, Eaton, Berardelli, Gallo are still mixed up in their self-created media-mess up to their elbows.
The new GOP hate blog “Politics in Brooklyn” operated by blog-master “AAA” is about as successful as anything else run by of for the Brooklyn GOP under Chairman Eaton. After three weeks up and running, a sidebar to “Politics in Brooklyn” entitled: “Followers — Join this sight — with Google Friend Connect [link]” indicates that “There are no members yet. Be the first! [link]”
“They” — “AAA”, Eaton, Berardelli, Gallo “and all the rest” are still stuck all alone on their own special “Gilligan’s Island”. Like verse two of their theme song says:
“Now this is the tale of the castways, they’re here for a long, long time, they’ll have to make the best of things, it’s an uphill climb. The first mate and the Skipper too, will do their very best, to make the others comfortable, in the tropic island nest. No phone, no lights no motor cars, not a single luxury, like Robinson Crusoe, as primative as can be. So join us here each week my freinds, you’re sure to get a smile, from [all the] stranded castways, here on “Gilligan’s Isle.”
One doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry. The last bastion and redoubt of the establishment Republicans in New York is the New York State Senate. The governing philosophy of that GOP-run body is “Liberal-Democrat Lite” with a superficial overlay of jabber-jive social conservative positions that are politically unworkable given the overriding politics in this state. For people looking for a Republican rebirth in New York, a stand-alone Republican State Senate majority is part of an ongoing problem, not part of the solution.
Now, the Republican State Senate leadership is pushing forward unsuitable candidate after unsuitable candidate in districts where good well-vetted Republican candidates might stand a decent chance of success. For people looking for a Republican rebirth in New York, a stand-alone Republican State Senate majority is part of an ongoing problem, not part of the solution.
Judging from the latest post on the new Brooklyn GOP hate blog, “Politics in Brooklyn” the newest unsuitable candidate looks like it will be Frank Padavan, who is neither new nor particularly relevant to Brooklyn politics. Enough about him for now; in due course, we’ll lay out all of the reasons why he is a very broken valise.
The take-away here is: “For people looking for a Republican rebirth in New York, a stand-alone Republican State Senate majority is part of an ongoing problem, not part of the solution.”
Contacts inside the Storobin Campaign have indicated that a phenomenon of the Turner Special Election Campaign in Brooklyn is being repeated in the current Storobin election operation. More volunteers are showing up at Storobin Headqaurters from the Conservative Party than from the Brooklyn GOP. Another interesting item is that some of David Storobin’s key volunteers are from a faction of Brooklyn Republicans independent of Chairman Eaton’s crowd.
Watch it Liam/Will/Opportunist.
If you didnt write the above comment then you certainly leaked the info to the turd that did.
You dont want this.
Hey Russell! Isnt it nice to run off to CPAC instead of organizing volunteers to help David?
The rumbling from the Storobins is that there are some volunteers being brought into Storobin’s campaign by the Conservative Party and they are being organized by Wil/Liam McCabe, but there are very few coming in with the Republicans led by “…J-T-C-O-B pronounced ‘Russell’ HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…!” Gallo. Of course, Gallo has had to phone it all in this week because he and the rest of the Brooklyn GOP poseurs had to go off to play like politicians at C-PAC – a pursuit that will accomplish nothing for the Brooklyn GOP in general, or for the Storobin State Senate Campaign in particular.
btw, apart from the threat above being quite hollow; Wil/Liam, who some might view as an “opportunist”, is at least a hardworking and insightful one. He is beginning to see that, as far as the Brooklyn GOP is concerned, they have little or nothing to deal. All the key Conservatives know that Eaton’s arm can be easily twisted until it breaks off and the bloody stump can be used to bludgeon him into submission. Liam McCabe and the Conservatives know from experience that the Brooklyn G-Oz-P “… never gave nothing to the Tin Man that he didn’t already have….”
Everybody should “Try Brioschi — Try Brioschi!” I’ll bet the rumbling will subside.
BTW, would you be talkin’ about the Right Honorable ‘Liam McCabe? Fine fellow, I hear.
Not our source, of course. But, surely, you knew that.
Liam, watch ‘ur back. These guys are real [fill in as you see fit].
Grumpy-Gus Gallo is at it again. The New York Giants are “FAUX HEROES” according to “…J-T-C-O-B pronounced ‘Russell’ HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…!” Gallo in his February 6, 2012 article in the “Brooklyn G.O.P. Radio – Official – Show Blog”. [ http://brooklyngopradio.blogspot.com/ canyon of faux heroes ]
According to old “Sarge”Gallo there shouldn’t be any parades in New York City until the City has thrown an Iraq Victory Parade (As usual, Sergeant Gallo is dissing his own chain of command, who’ve specifically requested that such parades be withheld until the end of hostilities in the Afghan. But that’s the kind of griping sad sack garret-trooper Sergeant “J-T-C-O-B” Gallo is….)
It should specifically be noted that he of the ill-famed Gallo-ism has thrown in with his good buddies of the “Occupy Wall Street” crowd in calling the Giants Victory Paraders, “…one percent- multimillionaires who are paid handsomely to play a game” (as if there were something wrong with that). Gallo’s main criticism isn’t aimed at the players; it’s target at “ … these fans … the unemployed, union workers, business executives, and politicians [who] will fawn over their “heroes” that managed to win a ballgame on Sunday that many of us played when we were children.” ( Maybe, that’s Gallo’s real whine – plain and simple – he played some kind of football as a kid and never got anywhere with it.).
Back to Gallo’s formal bitch — now, neither New York City nor the Giants shouldn’t have a parade because they don’t fit Russell Gallo’s definition of hero. — btw, Mr. Gallo does fit into his own definition of hero just because he says so (ie., Gallo defines himself as a hero without ever telling anybody what he’s done that’s heroic).
Read Gallo’s article (cited above) — it’s a classic of a priori assumption piled upon a priori assumption leading to a faux a posteriori conclusion.
What next, Bonus Marchers and Hooverville encampments on the Anacostia Flats? WHAT KIND OF LEFT WING FREAK IS THIS GUY, RUSSELL GALLO ??? Even “Room Eight’s” Gatemouth agrees with him about this….
Are the Brooklyn Republican Chairman Craig Eaton and the only Republican governnment representative elected in a completely Brooklyn district, State Senator Martin Golden, bowing down in homage and fealty to Brooklyn Democratic Assemblyman Dov Hikind over the new district lines? To judge by the Brooklyn Republicans’ new hate blog, “Politics in Brooklyn,” what Dove Hikind says about new district lines should be treated like holy writ. We didn’t know that Golden and Eaton read such things from right to left.
Word is that if Craig Eaton is consulted, if at all, it’s only after the fact on real political matters.
State Senator Golden’s majority caucus had input into the new lines for the “Super Jewish” senate district, which would be perfect fit for Democrats like David Greenfield, Simcha Felder, or Noach Dear; such lines would not be good for either of the candidates now running in the special election for the present 27th S.D.
Look at it a different way. The Brooklyn Conservative Party probably had more to do with the new senate lines than anybody else in the Republican Party whose name isn’t Skelos or Golden. After all, they backed David Greenfield before.
Why is Benton listed on a published list of 266 Community Leaders who announced their support for Councilman Lew Fidler for State Senate and authorized their names and, in some case, party affiliations and titles to be used?
Under the very flamboyant Red-White-and-Blue fiddle logo of the Fidler Campaign on sees:
“Lew Fidler for State Senate – He Gets Things Done. For Us – Here are Hundreds of Religious, Civic, Ethnic &Community Leaders Who Publicly Support Lew Fidler for State Senate”
Following not far below the name of former mayor Ed Koch is “Jack Benton – Past Republican District Leader – 41st A.D.” Jack Benton’s name and his “former” Republican title clearly appear among the 266 Community Leaders who publically announced their support for Councilman Lew Fidler for State Senate.
How did the Fidler campaign miss the fact that Mr. Benton is a current member of the Brooklyn GOP Executive Committee and is the party’s “Sergeant at Arms”? Maybe, it’s the same way that “Brooklyn GOP.com – Website of the Kings County Republican Committee” missed the fact that Mr. Benton is not still the current State Committee Member (District Leader along with Gladys Pemberton) of the 41st A.D., as it appears under the “About Us” tab.
The real question in all of this is: “What kind of Republican Party is Chairman Craig Eaton running in Brooklyn?”
A relatively complete history or explanation of L’Affaire Benton-Eaton-Fidler was provided by one of the routine Democratic sources in response to substantially similar material to what was contained in the comment above [See "Room Eight": 2-10-12 Gatemouth comment “Benton” to Gatemouth’s 2-9-12 post: “The Gateway (Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts Edition)”].
What’s up with a 2010 Brooklyn GOP honoree going with Lew Fidler?
At the 2010 Republican Lincoln Dinner Republican Chairman Craig Eaton announced, “You continue to be part of the largest reorganization of a county Republican committee in decades, and the funds we raise this evening will enable us to move forward with our aggressive agenda. This agenda includes reaching out to every corner of the borough to energize and motivate Republicans of all ages, ethic origins and faiths.”
Tonight we ask: MR. EATON, WHERE HAVE THOSE FUNDS GONE, AND HOW’S THAT REORGANIZATION AND AGGRESSIVE AGENDA BEEN WORKING LATELY ???
Case in point: THE 2012 SPECIAL ELECTION to fill the State Senate seat for the 27th S.D. and one of your 2010 Lincoln Dinner Honorees
The reason we ask, after we posted the comment above about Jack Benton and the helter skelter activity of the Brooklyn GOP behind your chosen nominee, David Storobin, someone called and asked about Bob Tracey. According to the caller a “Bob Tracey – a Community Board 18 Member” was also among the 266 Community Leaders that endorsed Lew Fidler. In that call, the source indicated that the person in question is the very same Bob Tracey of Tracey Real Estate, 3619 Avenue S, Brooklyn, NY 11234, who was your “2010 Kings County Republican Party – Lincoln Dinner – ‘Business Man of the Year’.” According to contemporary news accounts of that event , “… Businessman of the Year Robert Tracey … is founder and owner of Tracey Real Estate, who trademarked the “Brooklyn Proud” logo in 2004.” [Brooklyn Daily Eagle, “Broklyn GOP Hits Comeback Trail”, 5/17/2010 by Harold Egeln: (edit@brooklyneagle.net)] This looks like another big CATCH by Lew Fidler’s campaign from among YOUR PERSONAL LIST of GOP insiders.
If this is not the same Bob Tracey who was your “Man of the Year,” or if it is the same Bob Tracey, but he has GOP connections that aren’t personal to you, please get back to us; and we’ll continue this comment and be as fair to you as possible.
There is plenty of time left in the special election campaign for David Storobin to win the seat vacated by Carl Kruger. The early engagement between Lew Fidler and David Storobin provided much more heat than light. One can only hope what follows is much more issue based.
Already all Brooklyn Republicans owe Mr. Storobin a significant debt, regardless of the outcome of this campaign. The course that he took to get the Republican line and the campaign he is now running as the Brooklyn GOP candidate demonstrates almost everything that is and has been wrong with the Brooklyn GOP since 2007 (a/k/a the era of the Craig Eaton Regime).
The Storobin candidacy shows that the Brooklyn GOP is only about defining “in” and defining “out” — David Storobin started by being defined “out” or alligned with the “outs” of the Brooklyn Republican Party; and by some (his supporters say necessary) maneuvers worked his way “in”(btw, defining Storobin “in” to the Brooklyn Establishment GOP is virtually the only “growth” in the establishment wing of the party since 2007). In a series of annointings David was lifted higher and higher in the Brooklyn GOP until he achieved his current goal of being the GOP candidate in a competitive race in the 27th S.D. [Somehow related to all that, he also obtained the Conservative Party line; but he unfortunately failed to get an important independent line]. All of that showed what somebody has to do to get the Brooklyn GOP’s nominal support as a candidate.
For its part, having put Storobin out there as its candidate, what is the Brooklyn GOP doing for him? (I’m not talking about Golden, Skelos and the State Senate GOP — that’s for another post) I mean what are the District Leaders and the club members [State Committee and Gop-appointed inspectors] inside the 27th S.D. doing to help the Storobin Campaign? (We’re told that only one or two have done anything — and that’s not very much so far.) What is County Chairman Craig Eaton doing to whip the effort for Storobin? ( It’s too cold for crickets –so we’ve heard nothing.) What is coming into the district from the rest of the Brooklyn GOP? (That remains to be seen… so far really not very much — we’ve heard about a few nights of “ins” and a few nights of “outs” — that’s it.)
So far the David Storobin is showing everybody the “hung out to dry” phase of Brooklyn GOP support — let’s see if that changes.
Until then, be sure to thank David for what he’s done so far — moving “in” and giving the Brooklyn GOP a real candidate it can run-with, when and if it chooses to do so.
It’s a month already; where does the time fly?
The Brooklyn GOP’s new hate blog run by “AAA” continues to say nothing of significance and still has no new members.
Well done, AAA, keep up the good work.
The latest from “Brooklyn G.O.P. Radio– Official– Show Blog” is the “Monday, February 13, 2012 ‘Post-CPAC Wrap-Up Week!’ By Gene R. Berardelli, Esq.” http://brooklyngopradio.blogspot.com/ -
For a big man, Gene Berardelli is quite agile. That comes from often engaging in his favorite self-comforting exercise routine, [no not that] patting himself on the back. This time he stayed up late at night to be sure that he could do right by himself and Russell Gallo in the very revealing report posted on the “Brooklyn G.O.P. Radio– Official– Show Blog” mentioned above.
While many of the not-so-hooked-up Brooklyn Republicans were working to get David Storobin, the only Brooklyn Republican now running, elected; Mr. Berardelli proudly announced all that Russell Gallo and he had accomplished at CPAC last week.
Some truly impressive things were trotted-out: according to Gene B.: Brooklyn G.O.P. [Blog] Radio is now in the top ten of shows on that blog-talk network. That feat was accomplished by the tremendous list of interviewees that had been lined up and “…[s]o many new listeners found the show, thanks to so many great live guests, including 5 U.S. Congressmen, including Congressman Allen West, NRA President David Keene and – a huge surprise for us – former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton….” (there’s an interesting cause and effect riddle there ,but enough of that); also, get this, there was even an invitation to an EXCLUSIVE press conference by HERMAN CAIN. It just takes one’s breath away that such a small venture of the Brooklyn GOP and a pair of its key men accomplished so much in just a couple of short years.
btw, why was there no mention of Brooklyn GOP Chairman Craig Eaton being at CPAC? If CPAC is that important to the Brooklyn GOP and its success, then why wasn’t the party chairman there?
Some Conservative Party bigs are none too happy at how the David Storobin race has gone so far. The all-outrage-all-the-time style is playing out very fast outside the 27th Senate District. In the month since Kassar, Vella-Marone and Gaffney gave Storobin the Conservative line, they have heard “Neo-Nazi” and “Skinhead” mentioned more times in connection with one of their candidates than anytime anybody at 486 78th Street or thereabouts can remember.
The dwindling inner circle of Brooklyn GOP “activists” supporting the Bay Ridge Republican Regime/Cabal of Eaton and Golden are doing what they do best, shooting off their mouths about all the “boots on the ground” that the Brooklyn GOP is going to put into the David Storobin Campaign. “Plan of Attack — The Brooklyn GOP’s Strategy For a Storobin Victory” by Hunter Walker 2/15 6:11pm; http://www.politicker.com
/…/the-brooklyn-gops-strategy-for-a-storobin-vi… Of course it’s the usual list of suspects with their usual self-aggrandizing nonsense, Gene Berardelli, Russell Gallo and Eugene Pevzner.
Mr. Gene Berardelli, who was described in another context as “non-existent” by Mr Storobin was qouted as follows: “We’re going to be the guys knocking on everybody’s door annoying everybody, and handing out literature, and delivering signs, and filling the calling banks.”
Really, Gene? Well, as Al Jolson said at the end of “The Jazz Singer”: “You ain’t seen nuttin yet…” Let’s see what showed up from the Brooklyn GOP at Storobin headquarters last night (we’ll report on that ASAP). btw, the Brooklyn Conservatives and NYS Senate Republicans HAVE been heard from and are providing much needed support; and the Storobin campaign and the candidate himself reached out to The Brooklyn Young Republican Club — videos of the candidate’s appearance at the real Brooklyn Young Republican Club have been up for days.
Since “boots on the ground” seems to have some meaning for Gene and Russell and company let’s have a sing-song in the words of “Nancy[with the Laughin' Face]“:
You keep saying, you got something for me
…
You’ve been messin’ where you shouldn’t have been messin’
And now someone else is getting all your best
These boots are made for walking
And that’s just what they’ll do
One of these days these boots
Are gonna walk all over you
Yeah, you keep lyin’ when you oughta be truthin’
And you keep losing when you oughta not bet
You keep samin’ when you oughta be changin’
Now, what’s right is right but you ain’t been right yet
These boots are made for walking
And that’s just what they’ll do
One of these days these boots
Are gonna walk all over you
You keep playin’ where you shouldn’t be playin’
And you keep thinkin’ that you’ll never get burnt
Ah, I’ve just found me a brand new box of matches, yeah
And what he knows you ain’t had time to learn
These boots are made for walking
And that’s just what they’ll do
One of these days these boots
Are gonna walk all over you
Are you ready, boots?
Start walking
Recently, the Conservative Party’s Brooklyn Vice Chairperson Fran Vella-Marone was selected to be Congressman Michael Grimm’s Brooklyn Office Director. A somewhat suprised GOP Chairman Craig Eaton said, “I have no doubt she will be a great addition to Rep. Grimm’s office.” THERE IS MUCH MORE PERCOLATING IN THIS STORY THAN A GRACIOUS EATON QUOTE !!! [NOTE: "EATON CAPS"] CRAIG, TRY BRIOSCHI, TRY BRIOSCHI !!!
Sources at a key location have informed us that the Conservative Party’s volunteers miss no opportunity to point out the relative contributions of the major and minor parties who have given David Storobin lines as their special election candidate for the state senate.
What can Eaton and company do about all of this? It looks like not very much.
http://gestetnerupdates.com/2012/02/15/brooklyn-gop-thinks-storobin-will-win-due-to-orthodox-jewish-vote/
“The Kings County Organization-type Republicans” behind the pitch posted in “Politicker” and quoted here are not sufficiently familiar with the Orthodox Jewish and Russian communities in the 27th senate district to have anything meaningful to say. Specifically look at how the Russian and Orthodox Jewish communities are described by two of the “The Kings County Organization-type Republicans” spokesmen and you can sense how they view those communities as different from what they think are other Republican-voting parts of Brooklyn.
First, as to the Orthodox Jewish voters in the senate district, these three (3) Republicans don’t realize that such voters are for the most part socially conservative Democrats, who only occasionally vote Republican ), but who need a very good reason to do it (and that they almost never vote Republican down the ticket – for example, Mr. Berardelli’s previous abysmal showing against Mr. Fidler in the last race for City Council when Mayor Bloomberg was winning on the Republican line). These fellows don’t seem to understand that this is far from a simple repeat of the Turner-Weprin race. Unlike Weprin, Lew Fidler is not an outsider to the communities inthe 27th S.D.; he has been a NYC Councilman elected by many of them. In that elected position, Mr. Fidler has been a key man in providing necessary funding for organizations throughout the Orthodox communities inside and outside his NYC Council District (and the 27th senate district). On the other hand, David Storobin and these Republicans are virtual unknowns throughout most of the Orthodox Jewish Community. Thus, if he is to succeed, it’s up to candidate David Storobin to elevate the debate in the Orthodox community to one of moral, social, and theological necessity. Nobody associated with “The Kings County Organization-type Republicans” or any of the spokesmen quoted above can do that. To the contrary, organization Republicans, like Gallo and Berardelli, have actively opposed and isolated Mr. Storobin’s most active Republican supporter throughout the Orthodox communities in Midwood, SouthFlatbush/Marine Park and Kings Bay, Joseph Hayon. To drive home the same point “The Kings County Organization-type Republicans” have repeatedly tried to marginalize Republican Avi Rosenberg, now active as Storobin’s campaign coordinator focusing on Orthodox Jewish voters, even when he was a Republican candidate for the very same seat.
“The Kings County Organization-type Republicans” are little better represented among the recent immigrant population of the Russian-American communities in Sheepshead Bay and Brighton Beach. Apart from David Storobin, himself, and his own local faction of younger Russian Republicans, the faction of the Republican Party represented by the men quoted above, have very few bodies living in the district who are actively supporting Mr. Storobin (several notable Republicans are supporting Mr Fidler or sitting out from the race). In fact, during the last three years blogs associated with “The Kings County Organization-type Republicans” had repeatedly attacked David Storobin, until by his own efforts, he forced the party to accept him as the strongest new Republican active in the area including the 27th senate district. That is why, to date, there continues to be grumbling at Storobin headquarters over the tepid and grudging support coming from the organization-type Republicans, like Gallo and Berardelli, in spite of all that David Storobin has done for the party over the last three years.
Current postings of the “Official” Brooklyn G.O.P. Radio Blog would indicate that Gene Berardelli is trying to get a broader audience, which, if not national, would certainly be beyond Brooklyn. We would normally think that was part of Berardelli’s addiction to personal self-promotion. However, it’s possibly very much more sinister than that.
Now, that nobody is really looking into Fidler’s charges of David Storobin’s connections to Neo-Nazi Skinhead types, we should mention something that we’ve been following for some time. The “Brooklyn G.O.P. Radio — Official — Show Blog”, which is openly run by Gene Berardelli, who is a lawyer and the Kings County Republican Party Law Chairman, is regularly channeling violent right-wing extremist rants by people who go by the “call signs” (also internet tags): “Captain America”, “Batman”, “The Voice”, “Bo”, “Oscar”, “Ralph” and “Moshe” and a very blasphemous anthropomorphic right-wing “G-d” (except graphically appearing with the ” o ” and not a ” – “). This all might be viewed as sick humor, except that these comments freely discuss presidential assassinations, the comings and goings of the president, the president’s family and advisors, and describes open and covert movements of operatives in and around the White House.
Mr. Berardelli has clearly allowed his blog to go way over the line, publishing and broadcasting this kind of material. For those not familiar with this blog of Mr. Berardelli’s, it holds itself out as an “official” blog of the Brooklyn G.O.P., a/k/a The Kings County Republican Party, of which Gene R. Berardelli is “Law Chairman”. The only issue left to be determined is whether this is Mr Beradelli’s negligence in moderating the blog, or is it something intentional on behalf of Berardelli, personally or as a agent and executive officer of the “official” Brooklyn G.O.P.
Politics makes some very strange bedfellows. The Rick Santorum slate in parts of Brooklyn really demonstrates that. There are several socially conservative Republicans from various parts of Brooklyn that we would expect to find on such a slate of delegates and alternates; and we are confident that such delegates and alternates do belong there. In that number we’d include: Glenn P. Nocero, Del 8th C.D.; Yvette Bennett & Laquan O. Ward, Del. 11th C.D.; Joseph Hayon, Alt. 9thC.D.; and Avraham Y. Rosenberg, Alt 11th C.D. To be fair, many other delegates and alternates listed on Santorum’s slate might also have legitimate reasons for their inclusion.
Several other names are quite questionable insofar as they are neither socially conservative nor to our knowledge heretofore been Santorum supporters. That group would have the look and SMELL of a packing operation by the Brooklyn GOP establishment. At the top of that list would be Russell C. Gallo, Alt. 13th C.D. – based upon his expressed beliefs and lifestyle, in no way would he be described as socially conservative (and he is clearly defined as NOT ONE by some of the other Santorum delegates and/or alternates mentioned above). More important, he is a Craig Eaton sycophant; and backing Santorum would be a slap in Eaton’s face, because of Eaton’s recent strong support for Mitt Romney.
Perhaps Mr. Gallo can enlighten the rest of us as to why he has joined up with a Rick Santorum slate that includes: Joseph Hayon, Glenn Nocero and Yvette Bennett. Other than a packing job for Eaton, it makes no sense.
Russell Gallo is upset at Craig Eaton for not making him a delegate on Romney’s slate.
Talk about conflicted! That’s just crazy enough to have some legs…we are talking about Eaton and his boy Gallo, the “Ego” and the “Id” of the Brooklyn GOP.
The Russell Gallo “boots on the ground” contribution to the David Storobin campaign this week was putting some posters around his own district.
The Eaton Regime guys, Gene Berardelli and Russell Gallo, continued flacking the “story” that Jack Benton did not endorse Lew Fidler. Berardelli said it was a lie, but was soon contradicted by Mr. Gallo. Russell played one of his favorite cards (Jack Benton is a venerable old vet) to walk back Benton’s admitted endorsement of Democrat Lew Fidler. Gallo’s story, and he’s sticking to it, is that Mr. Benton was kidding with Mr. Fidler when Fidler asked for Benton’s endorsement. “… It was certainly something taken out of context…” Where does Gallo get this stuff? Where do these guys get the nerve?
Mr. Gallo was very defensive about the material posted above concerning his being one of Santorum’s Alternate Delegates — he gave a a tortured explanation for his support-non-support of Rick Santorum. Then he tried to laugh-off the reports about the suddenly appearing daylight between him an Eaton (at leat one GOP insider is predicting that it might soon be looking more like a solar flare).
Russell Gallo and Gene Berardelli came this close )( to calling ykw a “Buffoon of the Week” on this week’s “Brooklyn GOP [blog] Radio” program. Then quickly stifled themselves and debated whether the stuff that still appears here matters, “blah, blah, blah… ‘pathetic’ … yatta, yatta, yatta … something about a dormant, defunct or shut-down blog that nobody pays attention to … then Russell admitted that he does, because it gives him a laugh.
What did it all mean?
It meant that Russell Gallo and Gene Berardelli both knew that the independent Republican voices, which are still appearing here at ASIB (“a dormant, defunct or shut-down blog that nobody pays attention to…”), remain an existential threat to the sclerotic Brooklyn GOP establishment-style politics that’s practiced by their patron Craig Eaton, as well as by themselves as Eaton’s toadies.
The independent Republican bloggers here, along with activists like Jonathan Judge, Glenn Nocero and the rest of the original Brooklyn Young Republican Club, Lucretia Regina-Potter and Micheal Bennette, and the 49th AD Fiorello LaGuardia Republican Club, individual activists like Yvette Bennett, Bob Capano, Stephen Maresca, Peter Cipriano, Karen Fischer and Joseph Hayon, have all in their own way shown that independent and reform Republicanism remains a viable alternative to the Republican establishment here in Brooklyn. Also that Republicans not associated with the Eaton-Golden Bay Ridge Cabal are vital to the success of the Brooklyn Republican Party, as a whole going forward.
And for now it might also show this: THIS BLOGGING HAS BUGGED EATON, GALLO & BERARDELLI ENOUGH THAT THEY LOOK LIKE THEY MIGHT ACTUALLY GO OUT AND WORK FOR DAVID STOROBIN’S ELECTION. Now, don’t that beat all!
Another Republican activist held in high regard, Greg Borruso, President of the Marine Park Civic Association, is among the list of Lew Fidler endorsers that has caused so much controversy lately.
Proof of that high regard are the recent remarks by Republican-Conservative Congressman Bob Turner, originally uttered at the Marine Park Civic Association on Tuesday, February 21st, which have been reposted as part of the Congressman’s published remarks of the event. Mr. Borruso is also close to State Senator Martin Golden and his staff.
What is the Brooklyn GOP or its Chairman Craig Eaton doing to swing community leaders like Republican Greg Borruso and Republican Businessman of the Year, Bob Tracey, into the Storobin camp?
As if Craig Eaton can control what other people decide. Once people endorse a candidate, they don’t like to retrack endorsements.
